摘要： The application relates to technological frameworks whereby user skill performances are monitored using Performance Sensor Units (PSUs), and data derived from those PSUs is processed thereby to determine attributes of the user skill performances. For example, the identification of attributes of performances is used to drive computer processes, such as computer processes described herein. Particular focus is given to technologies which enable the gamification of skills via delivery of competitive challenges, such challenges being driven by data derived from PSUs that monitor physical performances. For example, in one embodiment users compete in the context of performing a particular skill or skills “better” than others (for example in the context of amplitude, power, accuracy, successive completions, and so on).

In an embodiment, the system comprises at least one monitor and an electronic processing device for receiving data from the at least one monitor and providing feedback to an individual based on the received data. The monitor can be a motion monitor that measures an individual's performance such as, for example, speed, pace and distance for a runner. Other monitors might include a heart rate monitor, a temperature monitor, an altimeter, et cetera. In an embodiment, a sport ball that includes a motion monitor for monitoring motion of the sport ball stores an identification value received when a shoe that includes a motion monitor contacts the sport ball. The stored identification value serves as a record of the contact.

摘要： A golf club shaft stiffening device with a flexible tubular body including an inner circumference and a length forming a tubular cavity is described. The inner circumference of the shaft stiffening device is sized and configured to circumscribe and constrictively engage an outer surface of a shaft and to cause the shaft to have an increased stiffness characteristic, allow the location of a kick point to be modified or modify other characteristics of the golf club. The shaft stiffening device may be housed on various sections of the shaft and may be slidably adjusted or positioned on the shaft. An associated method for fitting a golf club with a shaft stiffening device is also described. The shaft stiffening devices may be provided in a kit to facilitate fitting of a golf club with appropriate shaft stiffening devices.
