摘要： In an ultrasonic probe, an insulation layer portion is formed on an outer surface of a probe main body portion. A first electrode portion provided on an outer surface of the insulation layer portion so that at least part of the first electrode portion is exposed to an outside in a treatment section, and at least part of a second electrode portion is exposed to the outside in the treatment section. The second electrode portion is electrically insulated from the first electrode portion by the insulation layer portion. The probe main body portion vibrates integrally with the insulation layer portion, the first electrode portion and the second electrode portion.

The insert segment is located between the proximal end segment and the distal end segment along the longitudinal axis of the end effector. The insert segment functions to bridge or fill the nodal energy gap. A surgical instrument includes a transducer configured to produce vibrations along a longitudinal axis as a predetermined frequency. An ultrasonic blade extends along the longitudinal axis coupled to the transducer. An insert segment or a pad is positioned adjacent to the blade such that it engages the blade when the surgical instrument is in a closed position and generates heat filling the nodal energy gap.

摘要： An ultrasonic probe transmits ultrasonic energy along a shaft from a proximate end to a distal end. The ultrasonic probe includes at least one notch on its distal end. Fibrous tissue, such as septa that connect skin layers to muscle layers of animal tissue, can be positioned within the notch so that it is in contact with at least a portion of the distal end of the ultrasonic probe. The ultrasonic energy conducted through the ultrasonic probe to the distal end will sever the fibrous tissue in the notch. The ultrasonic probe is also designed, in embodiments, to fragment or emulsify adipose tissue, as part of an ultrasonic assisted lipoplasty (UAL) procedure.

摘要： A tool (1, 31) for cutting bone comprises an elongate blade (7, 37) connectable to a generator of longitudinal-mode ultrasonic vibrations. The blade (7, 37) has two lateral cutting edges (9, 10) linked by a rounded distal tip (8). A series of triangular teeth (13) extends along each cutting edge (9, 10) and the distal tip (8). The blade (37) may taper towards each cutting edge (9,10) and the distal tip (8). A variant of the tool (21) comprises an elongate part-cylindrical blade (27) connectable to a generator of torsional-mode ultrasonic vibrations. The blade (27) has a cutting edge at its distal tip (28) provided with a plurality of triangular teeth (23). All forms of the tool (1, 21, 31) are particularly suitable for cutting cancellous bone around an implant to be removed during revision of a joint arthroplasty.

The wire is coupled to the vibration generator in a cutting configuration, and a cutting surface is located on an inner curvature of the cutting loop.
