    • The invention relates to a rotary shift valve (1) for servo-assisted steering systems of motor vehicles, which valve comprises a valve rotor (2) which is joined to a valve input member (4) in a non-rotating manner. A control bush (3) is joined to a valve output member (7) in a non-rotating manner. These two valve elements are arranged coaxially such that they are able to move within each other and can be rotated in relation to each other maximally about the rotational travel of a backlash coupling (6). The two valve elements further have longitudinal control ports (8, 10) which cooperate so as to control a hydraulic fluid moving towards and away from two working chambers of a servo-motor and to a return flow connection (18) for a hydraulic fluid container. The valve rotor (2) is connected with the valve output member (7) via a torsion bar spring (12). The longitudinal control ports (8, 10) of the radially interior valve element, which are connected with the return flow connection (18), are connected to an interior space (13) of the radially interior valve element. In said interior space (13) the torsion bar spring (12) is mounted by means of an anti-friction bearing (14). The return flow from the interior space (13) of the radially interior valve element to the return flow connection (18) passes through the anti-friction bearing (14) and the backlash coupling (6).
