    • The invention relates to an optical sensor for determining a physical and/or chemical parameter of a sample, comprising at least one optical transmitter (12) and at least one optical receiver (14). The inventive optical sensor also has a sensitive element (16, 24), especially a gas-sensitive element, which is located in a beam path between the transmitter and the receiver and which is exposed to the sample. When the sample changes its parameters, the element changes its adsorption and/or refractive index for electromagnetic radiation of a particular wavelength. The sensor optionally also comprises an evaluation unit connected downstream of the receiver. The invention provides that the transmitter (12) and the receiver (14) are coupled with the sensitive element (16, 24) by at least one optical waveguide (26, 28).
