    • The present invention provides an automotive rotary electric machine that can reduce fan noise by suppressing occurrence of pressure fluctuations near leading edges of a cooling fan that become more pronounced due to turbulent air flowing into the cooling fan.
      An automotive rotary electric machine has a cooling fan including a flat ring-shaped mounting base plate fixed to a rotor, and a plurality of fan blades arranged in a row circumferentially such that each stands on a surface of the mounting base plate, the fan blades having an S-shaped cross-sectional shape that displaces gradually forward in a direction of rotation from a trailing edge that is an outer circumferential edge toward a leading edge that is an inner circumferential edge, and in which an arc shape near the trailing edge that is convex forward in the direction of rotation and an arc shape near the leading edge that is convex rearward in the direction of rotation are connected smoothly.
