    • A feedforward amplifier has : a first power divider which divides an input signal into two signals; a first vector adjuster which adjusts an amplitude and a phase of one of output signals which are divided by said first power divider; a main amplifier which amplifies an output signal of said first vector adjuster; a first delay circuit which delays another output signals which are divided by said first power divider; a directional coupler which receives an output signal of said main amplifier and an output signal of said first delay circuit, and has a main port for outputting almost signals from the main amplifier and a couple port for outputting a few signals from the main amplifier; a power combiner which receives an output signal of said couple port and an output signal of said first delay circuit,to output a combined signals thereof; a second delay circuit which delays an output signal from said main port of said directional coupler; an auxiliary amplifier block which amplifies an output signal from said power combiner; and a power combiner which outputs a combined signal of an output signal of said second delay circuit, and an output signal of said auxiliary amplifier block, said auxiliary amplifier block being a broadband auxiliary amplifier block having at least two error amplifiers which amplify the output signal from said power combiner while splitting the output signal into respective frequency bands that do not overlap with each other.

    • A power amplifier has an input terminal for inputting a signal, input signal splitting parts for splitting the input signal into two signals each having equal power and phase difference of 180 degrees with respect to each other and outputting the two signals, first signal on-off selection parts for switching conduction/non-conduction of one of the output signals of the input signal splitting parts, first amplifying parts having an output matching circuit for amplifying the signal from the first signal on-off selection parts, second signal on-off selection parts for switching conduction/non-conduction of the signal outputted from the first amplifying parts, second amplifying parts having an output matching circuit for amplifying the other of the output signals from the input signal splitting parts, output signal combining parts for making phase difference of 180 degrees between the output of the second signal on-off selection parts and the output of the second amplifying parts and combining them, an output terminal for outputting the combined signal, and a bias on-off parts for switching on and off at least the first amplifying parts, wherein, when the output level is high, the first and second signal on-off selection parts are made on and, at the same time, the first and second amplifying parts are made on by the bias on-off parts, so that push-pull operation is performed, and when the output level is low, the first and second signal on-off selection parts is made off and the first amplifying parts is made off by the bias on-off parts and the second amplifying parts performs single-ended operation.

    • To reduce the size of a multi-carrier transmitter circuit for a mobile communication base station, by suppressing instantaneous peak output power to a small value with respect to a wide-band signal of a few MHz to tens of MHz so that the peak factor of a multi-carrier signal is reduced.
      In a multi-carrier transmitter circuit for modulating carriers with corresponding input signals to generate modulated signals and then multiplexing said modulated signals and outputting a multiplexed signal, the multi-carrier transmitter circuit is equipped with carrier generators 3-1 to 3-n for generating each said carrier, modulators 5-1 to 5-n for modulating-each carrier with each input signal and outputting said modulated signal, an adder 6 for multiplexing said modulated signals and outputting the multiplexed signal, variable attenuators 2-1 to 2-n for directly or indirectly adjusting a level of each input signal, phase detectors 4-1 to 4-n for detecting a phase of each carrier, and a control circuit 7 for controlling the variable attenuators 2-1 to 2-n in accordance with the phase of each carrier.
