    • [Aim] To accurately and efficiently suppress periodic patterns caused by a grid when plural radiographic images are obtained by imaging using the grid.
      [Solution Means] A first frequency analysis unit (30) performs frequency analysis on a reference radiographic image (B1) of plural radiographic images obtained by tomosynthesis imaging using a grid, and obtains a frequency characteristic of a periodic pattern caused by the grid and a frequency analysis result (R0). A second frequency analysis unit (31) performs, based on the frequency analysis result, limited frequency analysis on a radiographic image or images (Bi (i=2 through n)) other than the reference radiographic image (B1), and obtains a frequency characteristic of the periodic pattern about the radiographic image or images (Bi). A suppression unit (32) performs, based on the frequency characteristic, processing for suppressing the periodic pattern in all of the radiographic images.

      When an area in which it is difficult to detect a periodic pattern is further included in a radiation field area, allowing a periodic pattern to be detected accurately.
      [Means for Solving the Problems]
      The image obtaining unit (31) obtains a radiation image (P0) from the radiation detector (2), the radiation field area detection unit (32) detects a radiation field area (P1) from the radiation image (P0). The analysis area setting unit (33) detects a direct radiation area, a superabsorbent body area, and a high noise area as the areas where a periodic pattern is unlikely to present and sets an analysis area (P2) by excluding these areas. The frequency analysis unit (34) performs a frequency analysis only on the analysis area (P2) and detects a frequency component of the periodic pattern arising from a grid. The filtering processing unit (35) removes the frequency component of the periodic pattern arising from the grid from the radiation image (P0).

    • [Aim] To identify the inclination of a periodic pattern included in an image based on frequency components corresponding to the periodic pattern, and the frequency components having been detected with respect to plural directions.
      [Solution Means] A subject component removed signal (Sh) is obtained from an image signal (Sd) representing an image by performing, with respect to a first direction and/or a second direction that is different from the first direction, one-dimensional filtering processing using a subject component removal filter (HPF) that removes a low frequency component including a subject component of the image to roughly remove the subject component. Further, frequency components corresponding to the periodic pattern in the subject component removed signal (Sh) are detected with respect to both of the first direction and the second direction.
