摘要： A planographic printing plate precursor according to the invention includes: a support; and a recording layer disposed on the support and containing an alkali-soluble polymer compound and an infrared absorber, wherein a contact angle at a surface of the planographic printing plate precursor is 70° or less in a case of oil in water and 140° or more in a case of water in oil. Examples of a method for achieving such surface physical properties include inclusion, in a recording layer, of a polymer having a lipophilic functional group on a side chain thereof. According to the invention, a planographic printing plate precursor for direct print making can be obtained, which precursor improves the image forming property of the recording layer using an alkali-soluble polymer compound, is excellent in the lipophilicity of an image portion and the removing property of a non-image portion, and produces printed matters of high quality with excellent reproducibility even in the image formation with an FM screen or high number of output lines.

摘要： A positive image-forming material for use with infrared laser comprises: a substrate; a layer(A) containing not less than 50% by weight of a copolymer which contains, as a copolymerization component, not less than 10% by mol of at least one of the following monomers (a-1) to (a-3),wherein (a-1) is a monomer having in the molecule a sulfonamide group wherein at least one hydrogen atom is linked to a nitrogen atom, (a-2) is a monomer having in the molecule an active imino group represented by the following general formula (I):
and (a-3) is a monomer sel ected from acry l am i de, methacry l am i de, acryl ate, methacrylate and hydroxystyrene, which respective have a phenolic hydroxyl group; and a layer (B) containing not less than 50% by weight of an aqueous alkali solution-soluble resin having a phenolic hydroxyl group. The layer (A) and the layer (B) are laminated on the substrate in that order. At least the layer (B) contains a compound which generates heat upon absorbing light. An image forming material comprises following compound (II) or (III):

wherein R 1 and R 2 may be the same or different, and R 1 and R 2 represent a substituted or non-substituted alkyl, alkenyl or aryl group. 摘要： The present invention is a quality control method for a planographic printing plate produced by subjecting an image forming material to a development processing with an alkaline developer, the method comprising the steps of: (A) preparing a standard alkaline developer and determining the activity of the standard alkaline developer by using a predetermined index; (B) measuring the activity of an alkaline developer to be evaluated by using the above-mentioned index; and (C) comparing the activity of the alkaline developer to be evaluated with that of the standard alkaline developer, and when the difference between the activities of the two developers exceeds a predetermined value, adjusting in accordance with the difference the value selected from the electric conductivity of the alkaline developer to be evaluated, the product of electric conductivity and temperature, and the product of electric conductivity and development processing time.

摘要： A positive planographic printing plate which has high sensitivity, limited reduction in sensitivity over time and high stability over time. The positive planographic printing plate has a light-sensitive layer formed on a support. The light-sensitive layer includes a light-sensitive image-forming material and a material which absorbs light and generates heat. The light-sensitive image-forming material contains a novolac resin having a xylenol monomer. It is preferable that, if a proportion of the xylenol-containing novolac resin in alkali-soluble resin that forms the light-sensitive layer is Y% by weight and a content of the xylenol monomer in the novolac resin is X% by weight, X × Y is 500 or more (X × Y ≧ 500).

摘要： A positive photosensitive composition for use with an infrared laser comprises one or more alkali aqueous solution soluble polymer compounds (A) having in a molecule at least one group selected from a phenolic hydroxide group (a-1), a sulfonamide group (a-2), and an active imide group (a-3); a compound (B) which has an I/O value (Y) satisfying a relationship 0.05 ≦ | X - Y | ≦ 0.5 wherein X is an I/O value of the polymer compound (A), and which is compatible with the polymer compound (A) thereby lowering solubility of the polymer compound (A) into an alkali aqueous solution, an effect of lowering the solubility being reduced by heating; and a compound (C) which generates heat upon absorbing light. The photosensitive composition does not contain any compound having a thermal decomposition temperature of 150°C or less. Alternatively, the photosensitive composition may comprise a compound which generates heat upon absorbing light; an alkali aqueous solution soluble resin having a phenolic hydroxide group; and a compound represented by R 1 CO-X-R 2 (wherein X represents O, S or NR 3 ; R 1 represents an alkyl group or alkenyl group which has 6 - 32 carbon atoms, R 2 and R 3 represent a hydrogen atom, or an alkyl group or alkenyl group or aryl group each of which has 1 - 18 carbon atoms).
