    • The invention relates to a brake system (1) for a motor vehicle equipped with a brake power assist device (16) for automatically generating brake power and equipped with at least one sensor (10) for generating a measurement signal which represents a driver activity and which can be supplied to a brake pressure control unit. In the instance that the measurement signal is located within a value connection range, a connection actuating signal is generated by the brake pressure control unit in order to actuate the brake power assist device (16). The aim of the invention is to improve the operational reliability of the brake system (1). To this end, at least two sensors (10, 22, 23) are provided for measuring a driver activity and the connection actuating signal is generated only in the instance when the measurement signals of the sensors (10, 22, 23) respectively exceed a comparison value.
