摘要： An apparatus for performing an arm curl exercise includes an input arm assembly having a first arm and a second arm. The second arm is interconnected to a resistance mechanism at a point of interconnection on a distal end of the second arm rotatably pivotable around a linear axis along a generally forward to rearward or downward to upward path of travel under resistance exerted by the resistance mechanism. The input arm assembly is adapted such that, in a start motionless position, the manually graspable mechanism is disposed in a start exercise position vertically below and forwardly of a point of engagement the elbow of a user with an engaging surface when the user is seated on a seating surface of the apparatus in an orientation where the anterior surface of the user's trunk is facing generally forwardly. Also provided are methods of performing arm curl and pull down exercises.

摘要： An apparatus for performing an arm curl exercise comprises a frame, a seat, a backrest, elbow pads, and an input arm assembly. The input arm assembly comprises a pair of pivotable arms having mounted to their distal end a pair of manually graspable grips or handles. The arms comprise first and second arm portions. The first arm portion is pivotable around a first axis. The second arm portion is pivotable around a second axis. A non-rotating portion of a distal end is connected to a resistance mechanism. The grips or handles are rotatably mounted and interconnected to the resistance mechanism. The non-rotating portion is connected a cable the cable is interconnected to the resistance mechanism. The seat, backrest and elbow pads are fixedly mounted to the frame. The first arm portion is mounted to the frame at an angle relative to horizontal of between about 20 degrees and about 75 degrees.

摘要： Exercise apparatus and method with selectively variable stabilization enabling a user to progressively increase his/her core body muscular strength. In various embodiments, the exercise apparatus includes a resistance cabling system providing a user defined line of motion, and a partial stabilizer pad being adjustably positionable offset from the line of motion, wherein the user's core body is positionable against the pad and required to resist the torque created by the offset. The user can progressively increase the distance between the line of motion and partial stabilizer pad, in order to progressively increase the force which the user's core body must resist to maintain an upright stature. In this way, the user can progressively, over time, increase his or her core body strength. A vertically and rotatably adjustable handle/arm assembly, resistance cabling and pulley assembly, and an overall exercise apparatus having a relatively small footprint but allowing multiple variable exercise routines, are also provided.
