    • The invention relates to a vibration damper comprising a damper tube (1), a piston rod (2) that can be moved in an oscillating manner out of the damper tube (1) in a rebound movement and into the damper tube (1) in a compression movement, wherein the damper tube (1) is divided into a piston-rod-side working chamber (A) and a working chamber (B) at a distance from the piston rod, a valve arrangement (3) that can be moved together with the piston rod (2), having a valve body (10), a rebound damping valve (4) acting in a rebound movement of the piston rod (2), a compression damping valve (5) acting in a compression movement of the piston rod (2), a first pressure chamber (6) that is hydraulically connected to the piston-rod-side working chamber (A), and a device (7, 8) for changing a preloading of the rebound damping valve (4) depending on a frequency (F) of the piston rod movement, wherein the device (7, 8) has an actuation element (7) which can be applied with a pressure produced in a frequency-dependent manner in the first pressure chamber (6) as a result of a rebound movement of the piston rod (2) and which can be adjusted in such a way that the preloading of the rebound damping valve (4) is increased. According to the invention, in order to provide a vibration damper, having frequency-dependent damping characteristics, and which reacts sensitively to frequency-dependent pressure changes, the device has a lever element (8) for changing a preloading of the rebound damping valve (4), wherein an adjustment movement of the actuation element (7) can be converted via the lever element (8) into an additional preloading force increasing the preloading of the rebound damping valve (4).
