摘要： A method of imparting heat resisting properties to synthetic plastics materials comprises incorporating in the material an organic antioxidant each molecule of which contains a reactive hydrogen atom and does not become an oxidation radical when the hydrogen atom is replaced by a free radical obtained from the polymer. One such organic antioxidant is the condensation product of dimethyl ketone and diphenylamine.
Synthetic plastics materials treated by the method can withstand prolonged exposure to temperatures up to and in excess of 140°C without appreciable loss of strength.

摘要： An adhesive composition comprises a phenolic resin and a latex, and, in addition, from 0.1 to 30% of an aqueous dispersion of a hydrocarbon wax.
The adhesive composition has use in the production of composite articles comprising rubber and a fabric, such as transmission belts and conveyor belts. By using the adhesive composition, the extensibility of the fabric can be increased without reducing the strength of the adhesive bond between the fabric and the rubber. A composite article may thus be formed by a method comprising treating a fabric with the adhesive composition, drying the treated fabric, applying a layer of an unvulcanised rubber to the dried, treated fabric and vulcanising the rubber.
