摘要： A system and method for bad frame indication of a speech frame includes estimating a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and checking a cyclic redundancy code (CRC) value of the speech frame. When the speech frame fails CRC error detection or the SNR is below a pre-specified value, a bad frame indication (BFI) flag is set. When the speech frame passes CRC error detection and the SNR is above the pre-specified value, a receive signal quality metric of the speech frame is checked against a high threshold and, if need be, a low threshold. The BFI flag and the receive signal quality metric for the previous speech frame is checked when the current receive signal quality metric is between the high and low thresholds. The BFI flag is set according to the value of the SNR, the CRC value, the current and previous receive signal quality metrics, and the previous BFI flag.

Then they limit the dynamic range of the set of scaled metrics (618), linearly quantize the limited metrics, and output the linearly quantized limited metrics (628) to a memory buffer. The size of the memory buffer containing the linearly quantized limited metrics (628) is smaller than the size of a memory buffer required to store the received soft metrics (614). The linearly quantized limited metrics (628) are then used as input to a decoder.

摘要： A received power of a code division multiple access (CDMA) signal is determined. Samples of a spectrum associated with the received CDMA signal are taken as received samples, which are then correlated with a code of the CDMA signal. For correlated samples below a first threshold, those correlated samples are processed by being made to be zero. For samples between the first threshold and a second threshold, those correlated samples are processed by rescaling. The correlated samples above the second threshold are passed unchanged. The received power level of the received CDMA signal is determined using the correlated samples after the processing.

摘要： The present invention of interfering continuous-wave signals are automically detected in the demodulated output of a quadrature amplitude modulation data communications receiver. The transmitter (16) is re-tuned in order to avoid the detected interferer. Statistical information concerning the received signal is accumulated at a receiver (18) and is analyzed to determine whether a reduction in the received bit-error-rate is due to the presence of an interferer. If an inteferer is determined to be present within the signal transmission bandwidth, then the potentially available transmission band is spectrum analyzed to find a new portion of that band in which the signal can be transmitted free of the interferer. The results of the statistical analysis and the spectral analysis are conveyed back to the transmitter (16) which then readjusts the transmission parameters and forwards the new parameters to the receiver (18). The system resumes operation in the new transmission band with no interference and with the bit-error-rate restored to its required level.
