摘要： The invention concerns an installation for automatic preparation of samples by liquid/solid column extraction. The invention is characterised in that the extracting device comprises on either side of the columns (3), a controllable valve (4) for switching from a column (3) to another to activate a column (3) adapted to ensure extracting when another column (3) is not operational, each switch valve (4) being connected to a common controllable direction reversing valve (5) designed to impose a flow direction on the fluid in any one of the columns (3) of the extracting device and return it to said valve (5) for dispensing the treated fluid to a selective circuit either to be rejected, or to be analysed.

摘要： The object of the present invention is to provide a method for separating components in a liquid specimen and an apparatus used in said method, by which it is possible to avoid carryover even when the specimen injector is not washed using washing solution and also to avoid the increase of inner pressure in column of the separation device or ineffective separating operation even when many liquid specimens are separated by many times using the same separation device. In the present invention, the liquid specimen is introduced into the separation device from a direction opposite to eluting direction of the separation device which retains an adsorbent, and by separating and eluting the specimen from eluting outlet together with the eluant, trace quantity of insoluble substances and the specimen remained on the specimen introducing passage can be removed by elution procedure. As a result, it is possible to avoid carryover, to prevent the increase of inner pressure in the column of the separation device and to prevent ineffective separating operation caused by clogging of the column.

The injector assembly has a sampling mode of operation, an injection mode of operation and a backflush mode of operation. In the sampling mode, sample is drawn into sampling chamber (11). In the injection mode, sample is injected into an injection channel which conducts the sample to a destination stream. In the backflush mode, carrier fluid flows through the injector assembly in the opposite direction. The injector assembly is designed to connect to precolumn (28) and analytical column (20) so that, in the backflush mode, precolumn (28) is backflushed. Advantages of the injector assembly include the ability to pressurize the sample before injection and to use a single carrier fluid source. In addition, the flow channels of the injector assembly are readily miniaturized.

摘要： An analytical system for measuring the concentration of non-methane organic gases within a test sample including methane and non-methane component groups. The system incorporates a trap in the form of a porous layer open tubular (PLOT) column which the sample mixture is directed through and which traps the NMOG group through adsorption. The methane group passes through the trap and is vented to atmosphere or evaluated using a detector. After trapping of the NMOG group, the flow direction through the column is reversed and the column temperature is increased to desorb the NMOG group which is evaluated using a detector such as a flame ionization detector (FID).
