摘要： A method and an arrangement for determining the presence of heat soak conditions in an internal combustion engine (1) of a type using fuel injection. Particularly useful when the or one of the fuels used in the engine (1) is susceptible to vaporisation in a fuel rail (8) due to high engine temperatures. The method includes the steps of measuring a first temperature in a tank (10) for the fuel, measuring a second temperature at the fuel rail (8), ascertaining the difference between the first and second temperature, wherein a significant difference indicates heat soak conditions. If heat soak conditions are detected then an auxiliary injector (20) may be operated or in dual fuel engines a higher boiling point fuel may be used.

摘要： @ An air/fuel induction system includes a pair of solenoid valves injecting fuel into an induction passage of a multicylinder engine. The valves supply fuel upstream of the inlet manifold to the engine and do not therefore direct fuel to specific cylinders. The solenoids (36, 36a) operate alternetely through pulses developed by drive units controlled by a microprocessor-based control unit (19). Each valve is independently timed by a respective timer-counter (44, 45) and valve operation overlaps in some circumstances. This allows smaller valves to be used and overcomes the problem of gusting at low speeds. The system may be applied to an LGP fuel system used as an additional fuel supply.

The controller (60) measures an actual operating state of the non-return valve (19) based on signals from the valve state detector (51) and the rotation angle detector (56) in association with the detected rotation angle, and corrects the operation command value of the auxiliary chamber fuel supply valve (18) such that the measured actual operating state is brought close to a target operating state.

In the control method for controlling an engine of a premix combustion type, the method including, but not limited to the processes of: a first step where the charging air pressure, the charging air temperature and the engine speed are detected; a second step where the air excess ratio of the air fuel mixture supplied to the main combustion chamber is computed as per predetermined relational expressions; a third step where the amount of the fuel to be supplied to the precombustion chamber is duly computed as per the relational expression between the air excess ratio of the air fuel mixture in the main combustion chamber and the fuel amount of the air fuel mixture in the precombustion chamber; a fourth step where the valve opening duration regarding a precombustion chamber fuel supply valve for controlling the amount of the fuel to be supplied to the precombustion chamber is computed as per a relational expression between the valve opening duration and the computed fuel amount of the air fuel mixture in the precombustion chamber.
