    • An apparatus for controlling an automatic shift operation for a vehicle includes a driving-power source (30) having a driving-power operating member (31), a shift-operating member (32) for switching a shift stage in a transmission (2), and a driving-power transmitting mechanism (33) having at least one of intermediate operating members (37, 40, 42, 43, 44, 47) disposed between the driving-power operating member (31) and the shift-operating member (32).     • In a shifting device which changes the gear ratio of a synchromesh-type transmission by using an electrically operated or controlled actuator, the actuator is controlled to stabilise or equalise the time durations required for effecting respective synchronisations. A driving signal for each of the synchronisation controls is decided in accordance with a relationship between the driving signal to be applied to the actuator and the relative rotation number between an idle gear and a sleeve when the synchronisation control is initiated. Prior to each synchronisation control, the above relation is corrected based on four variables obtained at the immediately preceding synchronisation control. These four variables are: (i) an input rotation number deviation summation ΣΔN in ; (ii) a synchronisation time duration deviation T syn ; (iii) an elapse-time input rotation number deviation ΔN in P ; and (iv) a change grade deviation ΔdN in .
