摘要： An object of the present invention is to accurately position a forward end portion of a metallic shell (ground electrode) in relation to a combustion chamber and to implement good airtightness when a spark plug is mounted to a combustion apparatus. A gasket 18 is made of metal, has a solid annular shape, and is provided on the outer circumference of a metallic shell 3 of a spark plug 1 between an externally threaded portion 15 and a seat portion 16 of the metallic shell 3. A method of manufacturing the gasket 18 includes a blanking step of performing blanking on a flat plate of a metal material MM, thereby yielding a ring member RC which is to become the gasket 18, and an annealing step of annealing the ring member RC so as to lower the hardness of the ring member RC below that of the metal member MM, thereby yielding the gasket 18.

摘要： A flexible bellows assembly is disclosed for sealing an engine igniter for use with an engine. The bellows assembly includes a mounting arrangement that is operable to be secured to a combustor diffuser instead of the combustor liner. The bellows has a component that impinges upon a surface of the combustor liner so as to form a sealed chamber between a metal diffuser and a ceramic combustion liner. An igniter passes through the sealed chamber and provides ignition to the combustor.

摘要： An object is to efficiently conduct heat from a tip to an inner layer to thereby improve the corrosion resistance of the tip. A spark plug 1 includes a ceramic insulator 2 having an axial hole 4 extending in the direction of an axis CL1, a center electrode 5 inserted into the axial hole 4, a metallic shell 3 provided around the ceramic insulator 2, a ground electrode 27 fixed to a forward end portion of the metallic shell 3, and a tip 32 joined to a distal end portion of the ground electrode 27 and forming a spark discharge gap 33 between the tip 32 and a forward end portion of the center electrode 5. The ground electrode 27 includes an outer layer 27A and an inner layer 27B provided inside the outer layer 27A and formed of a metal which contains copper as a main component. The tip 32 is joined to the ground electrode 27 by a fusion portion 35 which contains a metal which forms the tip 32 and a metal which forms the outer layer 27A. The fusion portion 35 is in contact with the inner layer 27B and contains copper.
