摘要： In an embodiment, axially-fed slurry can be continuously separated into clarified liquid, stripped gas, and thickened sludge in radial counterflow between counter-rotating coaxial centrifugal impellers. One impeller comprises an annular crossflow filter through which liquids are extracted. At the periphery of the impellers, where they are narrowly separated, the sludge is shear thickened into an extruded paste. Suspended solids in the feed pass over the surface of the rotating annular crossflow filter by the shear lift effect, and the vortex-wall interaction jets water radially inward from the periphery, dewatering the sludge. Evolved gases, oils, and fractions lighter than water flow radially inward to the impeller axis through radial vortices in a shear layer between the impellers, and are extracted through an axial exhaust conduit. Feed has long residence time so that separation is complete and continuous. Municipal wastewater, produced water, beverages, food, and scrubber sludge are discussed.

摘要： The invention concerns an optimised method for the treatment and energetic upgrading of urban and industrial sludge purifying plants. It consists of a 'novel' combination of known and tested equipment, forming a compact assembly with six functions which are: anaerobic sludge digestion (1) and biogas production, mechanical dehydration (2) up to 22-24 % of dry matter, a gas turbine installation (3) burning the biogas into 'total energy', thermal drying (4) of the sludge up to 92 % of dry matter consisting of a thin-layer drier and a vibrated drier/cooler with fluid bed (4b), condensation of the vapours (5) for heating the digester and the premises, and optimised energetic upgrading (6) of the dried sludge as booster fuel capable of being stored and fed into the refuse incinerating boiler-furnaces. The method is also applicable to the treatment and transformation of liquid manure into granulated and bagged fertiliser.

摘要： A process for treating effluent such as untreated biological effluent includes a primary clarifier (1) where sludge solids are settled out from a liquid sludge fraction. The sludge solids pass to a digester (2) where the sludge solids undergo anaerobic digestion to produce digested sludge and biogas. The digested sludge is dewatered and the liquid sludge fraction and the liquid component of the dewatered digested sludge is passed to an activated sludge tank (6). The resulting activated sludge solids are then concentrated by settlement, dewatered, and flocculated under alkaline and acidic conditions. The resultant acidic activated sludge solids are neutralized before and passed to a mixing and drying apparatus (5) where the solids are mixed with the digested sludge and dried using the bio-gas as a fuel.

The spoil treatment plant comprises a dump bin held within the frame for receiving spoil, a vibrating screen separator mounted in the frame away from the dump bin, an elevator located within the frame, the elevator transporting spoil from the dump bin to the vibrating screen separator, a slurry tank within the frame below the vibrating screen separator that collects slurry; and a chute adjacent the vibrating screen separator that delivers spadeable fill. The vibrating screen separator separates the spoil into spadeable fill delivered from the chute and fine slurry delivered to the slurry tank. The spoil treatment plant may also comprise a further dewatering element, such as a rotary press, that extracts water from the spadeable fill.
