摘要： A plasma ignition plug for an internal combustion engine has a thorium alloyed tungsten anode separated from a vanadium- or beryllium-alloyed copper cathode by a boron nitride ceramic powder insulator. A generally semi-spherical titanium emitter is electrically coupled to the anode and disposed within an end of the insulator so as to form an annular gap with a torus on the end of the cathode. The surface of the emitter protrudes slightly beyond the rim of the torus on the cathode. High amplitude pulses driven into the anode arc across the annular gap to the cathode at more than twenty-four spots simultaneously, generating a plasma ignition front.

An igniter comprises a first rectangular substrate and a second rectangular substrate each having a longitudinal side, and at least one intermediate substrate arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate and having a longitudinal side which is shorter than each longitudinal side of the first substrate and the second substrate, the first substrate has an input part configured to receive an input of an electromagnetic wave from an outside, a first electrode, and an electromagnetic wave transmission line that connects the input part to the first electrode, each of the first electrode and the electromagnetic wave transmission line being provided at a surface of the first substrate on a side of the at least one intermediate substrate, the second substrate has an electromagnetic wave resonator and a second electrode that is electrically connected to the electromagnetic wave resonator, each of the electromagnetic wave resonator and a second electrode being provided at a surface of the second substrate on a side of the at least one intermediate substrate, and a space is formed between the first substrate and the second substrate at a position at which the at least one intermediate substrate does not exist therebetween, such that the first electrode and the second electrode are faced each other and located away from each other across the space and a part of the electromagnetic wave transmission line and a part of the resonator are faced each other and located away from each other across the space.

摘要： An electromagnetic wave oscillation device includes: a buck-boost circuit having buck-boosters and switching elements; an electromagnetic wave oscillator; an amplifier to amplify an electromagnetic wave and supply an amplified electromagnetic wave to a resistive part; a detector to detect a reflected wave from the resistive part; and a controller to send to one of the switching elements an operation signal in predetermined order, synchronizing with an oscillation timing of the electromagnetic wave oscillator, to output a current from the corresponding buck-boosters to the amplifier in a non-smooth manner. When a detected value of the reflected wave exceeds a predetermined value upon said current output by operating the one of the switching elements, the controller stops sending the operation signal to one or more of the other switching elements that are supposed to output the current after said current output by operating the one of the switching elements.

摘要： The invention provides a practical diesel engine that uses plasma formed by microwave emissions. In a compression-ignition internal combustion engine, fuel is sprayed by an injector in the combustion chamber in which compressed oxidizing gas is present, and the fuel is compressed and ignited. The engine has one antenna or a plurality of antennas in the combustion chamber, and when the oxidizing gas or moisture and charged particles are present in the combustion chamber, an electromagnetic wave is emitted using the antenna in a space in which the oxidizing gas and the charged particles are present, and plasma is generated in the space by the energy fed to the charged particles.
