摘要： A method of image processing to detect a substance spill on a solid surface such as a floor comprises receiving 102 image data representing at least a portion of a first image, captured by an image sensor. The scene captured in the portion of the image includes a region comprising a solid surface, such as a floor. The method further comprises the application 104 of a trained neural network to the image data to determine one or more spill values for the portion of the first image. The spill values indicate the presence or absence of a spill on the solid surface for the portion of the first image. A second method comprises the use of a semantic segmentation neural network to determine the spill values, and further comprises the determination of a spill value for each pixel of the plurality of pixels in the image portion. The presence or absence of a substance spill is subsequently detected 106 on the basis of the spill values of the pixels. A method of training a semantic segmentation neural network for use in the second method, which comprises the use of annotated training images, is also disclosed.
