    • Interlocks for file cabinets and the like which generally prevent more than one drawer from being opened at a given time. The interlocks include a elongated, flexible member, such as a cable, which is changeable from a high slack condition to a low slack condition. In the low slack condition, the interlocks prevent their associated drawers that are closed from being opened. In the high slack condition, the interlocks allow their associated drawer to be opened. The interlocks may be used in conjunction with a lock that selectively changes the cable from a high slack condition to a low slack condition and vice versa. The interlocks may be constructed to exert a force on the cable that is independent of the pulling force exerted on a locked drawer.

    • A tandem of independent powered door operators for passenger transit vehicles having a central lock mechanism and enabling each of the doors to be moved with a force of less than 80 N. Such door operators can be used on vehicles where the cross-sectional area within which to accommodate a door operator is limited. The door operator comprises an electric motor, a helical drive screw rotatably connected to such electric motor with a universal joint, a drive nut assembly engaged with such drive screw, a door hanger rod, a first door hanger bracket connected to a door and engaging the drive nut, a second door hanger bracket connected to a door and engaging a centrally located lock mechanism enabling locking of such door in a fully close position.

    • A multi-drawer device includes a first drawer and a second drawer, each carried by a housing, and movable between a closed position disposed within a housing and an open position extending from the housing. A first slide assembly couples the first drawer to the housing and a second slide assembly couples the second drawer to the housing. A ramp and follower are each associated with the first drawer and the follower is adapted to contact and slide along the ramp. A first blocking device is associated with the second slide assembly and coupled to one of the ramp and the follower. The ramp, the follower and the first blocking device all cooperate such that as the first drawer moves from the closed position toward the open position, the follower contacts and slides along the ramp, for moving the first blocking device into a locked position that interferes with the second slide assembly to prevent the second drawer from moving to the open position.

    • In a multi-drawer filing cabinet arrangement of vertically disposed drawers mounted on progressive telescopic two or three channel drawer slides, with an interlock mechanism, an improved connecting stub is used. Field installation, assembly, disassembly, replacement or repair of particular cabinet drawer or interlock mechanism can now be accomplished due to the arrangement and configuration of an improved connecting stub for use in an interlock mechanism without taking the file cabinet apart. The connecting stub comprises a partial pocket where the arc segment subtended by the partial pocket is more than 180 degrees and has a predetermined length, thereby allowing lateral or transverse insertion and removal of an associated vertical actuator locking vertical connecting rod without taking the whole filing cabinet apart.

    • A door suspension system includes a rail support attachable to a crosspiece of a door and having a part shaped as a rigid substantially flat plate that supports a rail. A pair of brackets, each having a connector, are attached to support block having an opening in which the rail is partially received. The connectors have a substantially C-profile embracing the flat plate and the rail. A support strip is attached to the connectors and is provided with a connection device for suspending the door of an elevator. A magnetic way is attached to the plate and an elongated primary of a linear motor is attached to the strip in such a manner that the attraction force between the magnetic way and the primary cancels at least partially the weight of the door. The door suspension system further includes a bearing of substantially cylindrical shape with an axial recess. The bearing is mounted in the opening of the support block to guide the rail.

    • A powered window regulator for use with a horizontally sliding window assembly may be disconnected from a sliding pane to permit manual operation of the window. The regulator has a tubular guide rail mounted adjacent and parallel to the lower edge of the window assembly by pivot brackets which engage the respective ends of the guide rail such that the guide rail is rotatable about the pivot brackets. A carrier block slides within the guide rail, and a portion of the block extends out through a longitudinal slot extending along the length of the guide rail to engage a pane attachment affixed to the sliding pane. The carrier block is moved reciprocally along the guide rail by a motor-driven cable to slide the sliding pane between open and closed positions. Rotation of the guide rail about the pivot brackets through approximately ninety degrees moves the carrier block between an upright position wherein it engages the pane attachment and a depressed position wherein it is disengaged from the pane attachment. Each pivot bracket comprises a bearing pin which fits into the end of the tubular guide rail and a conduit end fitting for receiving the end of a protective conduit which surrounds the drive cable.

    • A lock mechanism enabling locking of a bi-parting set of right hand and left hand door panels respectively suspended from a right hand and left hand door operators, to be driven by the door operators for covering and uncovering an aperture disposed within a passenger transit vehicle. Such lock mechanism disposed intermediate the door operators. The lock mechanism is capable of operating in a pushback and non pushback arrangement providing a fully-locked state, for each of the two bi-parting doors of a passenger transit vehicle. The integrated design allows the central lock mechanism to be installed and/or maintained over a doorway with only minimal adjustments needed to assure that the door lock assemblies operate in unison. As compared to separate door lock assemblies for each door panel as is typical of prior art designs, the central lock mechanism enables the door panels to be closed and locked more reliably and with better sealing against weather and noise.
