    • The invention relates to a polyamide composition with improved flow behavior that comprises at least 80-99.5 wt. % of a high-molecular polyamide and 0.5-20 wt. % of a polyamide oligomer that has a melting point that is higher than the melting point of the high-molecular polyamide, the amounts being relative to the total weight of the polyamide present in the composition. The high-molecular polyamide is preferably PA-6 or PA-4,6/6 copolymer and the polyamide oligomer is preferably chosen from the group comprising PA-6,6, PA-4,6, PA-4,6/6 copolyamide or copolyamides or mixtures thereof. The invention also relates to a process for improving the flow behavior of a high-molecular polyamide composition by melt-mixing a high-molecular polyamide and a polyamide oligomer having a melting point that is higher than the melting point of the high-molecular polyamide at a melt temperature that is equal to or lower than the melting point of the polyamide oligomer and also a high-molecular polyamide composition obtainable with this process.

    • A loose-fill insulation product is provided which includes a dry mixture of loose-fill fiberglass and an inorganic (being composed of matter other than plant or animal) adhesive in the form of a redispersible powder. During application, the dry loose-fill mixture is coated with a liquid (e.g. water) so as to activate the adhesive. Thereafter, the loose-fill mixture with activated adhesive is blown or sprayed into a cavity (open or closed) so as to insulate same. According to certain embodiments, this mixture may be blown into open attic areas so as to insulate same and reduce the movement of loose-fill insulation. It has been found that the redispersible powder (RP) dry adhesive mixes more uniformly within the dry mixture and clings better to the glass fibers when the mixture is substantially free of anti-static material. In certain embodiments, a color dye is provided in the mixture, and is activated upon installation.

    • This invention is directed to the preparation of alloy articles consisting essentially of 65 wt. % or more glass and high temperature organic thermoplastic or thermosetting polymers having working temperatures which are compatible with that of the glass and/or the precursor glass for the glass-ceramic. The glass and polymer are combined at the working temperature to form an intimate mixture; i.e., the glass and polymer are in a sufficiently fluid state to be blended together to yield a body exhibiting an essentially uniform, fine-grained microstructure wherein, desirably, there is at least partial miscibility and/or a reaction between the glass and the polymer to promote adhesion and bonding therebetween. A body is shaped from the mixture and cooled to room temperature.
