摘要： A device is disclosed for washing or rinsing food or nonfood items or objects powered by a water source, such as a kitchen faucet or other continuously-running or intermittent source. A pot-shaped chamber at the center of the device, in combination with a smaller pot-shaped chamber, frontwardly and upwardly mounted to said pot shaped chamber at the center, form the vessel for holding water and the items to be washed. This smaller chamber is counterbalanced by a weighted handle to the rear of the vessel. The vessel is, in turn, mounted on a stand that allows it to pivot about its center of gravity. Water from the water source enters the vessel and washes the items inside. When sufficient water has flowed into the smaller chamber of the vessel to place more weight to the front of the center of gravity than the handle provides behind it, the vessel tips forward, spilling out the water that had been inside it. With no water in the vessel, the weighted handle then counterbalances the vessel, causing it to pivot back into its initial position on its stand. A mesh screen secured to the top of the vessel keeps the items to be washed from escaping during the process. Water from the water source then refills the vessel for another interation of the washing operation. Washing continues until the operator turns off the water source and empties the vessel manually.

摘要： Food products, such as precooked meats, sausages, and the like are microbially decontaminated in their cooking packages to remove surface microorganism contamination from the packages. The cooking packages are removed and the food products optionally subjected to further processing, such as slicing, and then packaged in aseptic packaging. The microbial decontamination step, further processing and packaging are carried out in a clean room which is maintained to a high level of sterilization or disinfection to minimize or eliminate contamination of the food products with pathogenic microorganisms such as Listeria Monocytogenes. The food products thus leave the packaging plant with a much higher assurance of food safety than is found in a conventional packaging plant.

摘要： A food chiller including an enclosed container supported on a base receives a flow of cooling air from a Peltier effect thermoelectric module in the base through cool air inlet openings into the container. Air is returned from the container to the base by a fan mounted in the air duct system in communication with the cold sink of the thermoelectric device. In each of the disclosed embodiments, duct length is minimized and air flow into the container is optimized by air hole placement and orientation.
