摘要： In one version a safety binding (1) for downhill skiing comprises a toe connection means (5, 24) and a heel connection means (6) for co-operation with corresponding parts of a ski boot (3'), in which the toe connection means comprising a rotatable roller (5) having a support web portion (16) and from the said web portion an upwardly diverging conical portion (17), which roller (5) and its shaft (12) are spring biased and movable in the longitudinal direction of the ski (2). The heel connection means (6) comprises an U-formed clamp (26, 27) which is rotatably mounted about a vertical fixed pin (25) of the binding and which is formed with two parallel upright lock clamps (27) having recesses facing the front part of the binding and co-operating with side rollers (33) of the boot. The toe connection means (5, 24) and the heel connection means is fixed to the ski as shown in one version, or movably mounted thereto as shown in version two.

摘要： A ski binding of the type comprising a plate engageable by a skier's boot and a releasable mechanism for securing the plate on a ski and enabling the plate to separate from the ski if the skier should fall. A ski brake is supported by the plate and comprises at least one spade pivoted on the plate. A member movable by engagement with a skier's boot controls the spade so that the spade is retracted into an inactive position above the ski sole when the boot is placed on the plate and projects downwardly into an active position below the ski sole when the boot is separated from the plate.

摘要： A snow ski has a longitudinal body defining a sole for gliding on the snow. The ski includes: (a) a platform slidably coupled to the body for sliding longitudinally relative to the body; and (b) a gripping element slidably and rotatably coupled to the body and rotatably coupled to the platform. The gripping element extends downward to penetrate the snow in response to the platform being slid rearward relative to the body. The gripping element retracts upward above the sole when the platform is slid forward relative to the body. First and second gripping elements may be disposed on opposing sides of the body. A locking mechanism selectively locks the platform at a forward position, in which the gripping element is retracted, one or more intermediate positions, or a rearward position in which the gripping element extends to penetrate the snow. A ski-traction kit for retrofitting a ski is provided.

摘要： A ski brake has a pair of ski elements flanking the ski and each formed by a pair of wires which in the braking position with the ski element projecting down below the bottom of the ski extend at an angle to each other, and which in the rest position extend parallel to the normal displacement direction of the ski and to each other. One of the legs of each of these elements is pivoted about an axis fixed on the ski and the other is pivoted about an axis which can be moved toward and away from the immovable axis on the ski for swinging of the elements up and down between the brake and rest positions. A spring is provided either in the form of a springy joint between the lower ends of the two legs or as a separate compression spring to urge the legs into the brake position. An actuator is displaceable from a raised or advanced position into a depressed position to move the brake elements into the rest position and is similarly urged into the raised or advanced position by the spring.
