    • A semiconductor laser device comprising a semiconductor substrate, a multi-layered mesa stripe having an active layer sandwitched between a semiconductor layer of the same conductivity type as that of the active layer and a semiconductor layer of the opposite conductivity type to that of the active layer, and formed on the substrate, a burying layer having a refractive index smaller than that of active layer and burying both sides of the mesa stripe, and a pair of electrodes for supplying a current to active layer. The mesa stripe is constructed such that both sides of active layer neighboring to the semiconductor layer of the opposite conductivity type substantially coinside with those of the semiconductor layer, and that active layer has a width decreasing toward the boundary between active layer and semiconductor layer of the same conductivity type, thereby to form a waist portion at the boundary, and in that a protective layer is formed to fill the waist portion, thus covering at least both sides of the active layer. A method for manufacturing the semiconductor laser device having above mentioned features, wherein etching of the multi-layer structure of semiconductor is so controlled to form a V-shaped waist portion at the boundary between active layer and semiconductor layer of the same conductivity type, and a protective layer is selectively formed to fill the waist portion.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioning system in which at least one of heating and cooling operations can be performed with almost no energy consumption or no energy consumption for air conditioning. SOLUTION: An air conditioning system 1 comprises an outdoor machine 2 disposed in an outdoor part OD so as to perform at least one of a heating or a cooling operation relative to heat exchanging fluid W1, an indoor machine 3 disposed in an indoor part ID to condition air in the indoor part ID in accordance with the temperature of the heated or cooled heat exchanging fluid W1 and a heat exchanging means 4 for exchanging heat between the outdoor machine 2 and the indoor machine 3 through the heat exchanging fluid W1. The outdoor machine 2 can perform at least one of the heating or the cooling of the heat exchanging fluid W1 by using solar heat.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance workability by lining up a plurality of blocks having a drain ditch installed cubically to its lateral part in a row and connecting the joint parts of the blocks with bolts or the like. CONSTITUTION:Permanent concrete is cast to a foundation construction site where PC foundation units 1 are lined up in a row on the concrete by way of an uncured mortar layer and joint parts 8 are connected with bolts or the like, thereby forming a foundation and building a drain ditch 6 at the same time. Load dispersion boards 2a and 6a are installed to the inside and outside and the bottom of the units 1 so as to disperse the load of a post equally and prevent the units 1 from differential settlement of the units 1. A pedestal fixing member is fixed with bonding parts, such as female screws 51 exposed on a post bearing 3, thereby bonding the legs of a post to be bonded with pins or the like. As occasion demands, there is formed a core of reinforcement rigid frames to be supported on an independent foundation while it serves to build strongly a building by connecting a wooden post on the foundation unit 1 which envelops the rigid frames with the core by means of beams. This construction makes it possible to finish the foundation and the drain ditch simultaneously, and what is more, shorten a construction period and execute construction work at low cost.
