    • The present invention relates to a benzene detecting element capable of detecting benzene selectively and highly sensitively, and a preparation process thereof. The benzene detecting element of the present invention is a mesoporous silicate for detecting benzene selectively and highly sensitively in atmospheric air, and the detecting element has a nanosized fine pore having a highly ordered periodic fine pore structure, and the wall of the nanosized fine pore has a sub-nanosized fine pore. The nanosized fine pore has a pore size of from 0.15 nm to 50 nm in radius, the sub-nanosized fine pore has a pore size of from 0.05 to 0.5 nm in radius, and at least the sub-nanosized fine pore among the fine pores is modified with an organosilicon functional group having a phenyl group, or a silanol group. The present invention also relates to a preparation process of the detecting element.

    • A non-open fire type cooking burner capable of exhibiting endurance, workability and safety. Heat combustion or exhaust gas produced by combustion in a burner body are guided to a heat exchanger made of metal and discharged through an exhaust pipe to an exterior of a room, respectively. The heat is then radiated to a ceramic plate arranged above the heat exchanger for cooking. An air shifter provided with an air-direction change-over damper is arranged so as to change over flowing of air, to thereby permit the cooking burner to be applied to space heating as well as cooking.

    • The present invention relates to a structure in which an unburnt gas can be prevented from being diffused into a room while suppressing the generation of the unburnt gas during the extinction operation of a pot type oil burner. During the extinction operation, first of all, the supply of a fuel from fuel feeding means (35) to a pot (15) is stopped and conduction to an electric heater (31) is started. The rotation of each of a combustion fan (23) and a convection fan (11) is carried out continuously. While a second timer (67) counts a second time period, the convection fan (11) is rotated at a high speed. After the second time period is ended, the rotation of the convection fan (11) is switched from high speed rotation into low speed rotation. The low speed rotation is carried out continuously for a third time period counted by a third timer. After the third time period is ended, the rotation of the convection fan (11) is returned from the low speed rotation to the high speed rotation. During the low speed rotation, an unburnt gas discharged from an air outlet (3) of a frame body (1) to the outside is raised to a ceiling portion with a natural convection so that the diffusion of the unburnt gas can be suppressed.

    • An oil burner capable of ensuring normal combustion of quality-deteriorated kerosine. A burner body including a vaporization section is fed with fuel and air from a fuel pump and an air fan, respectively. A combustion control unit controls the fuel pump and air fan to control a combustion quantity in the burner body. The combustion control unit increases the combustion quantity to a combustion level sufficient to permit tar collected in the vaporization section to be burned at a predetermined time interval. Also, the combustion control unit keeps the combustion quantity increased to the combustion level for a predetermined period of time which permits tar collected in the burner body prior to an increase in combustion quantity to the combustion level to be substantially exhausted. This permits the combustion quantity to be intermittently increased, to thereby ensure substantial exhaustion of tar collected in the burner body.
