    • A method for producing .alpha.-olefin polymers or copolymers by the use of an improved catalyst having a specific solid product combined with an organoaluminum compound is provided.The specific solid product (III) is prepared byreacting a trivalent metal halide with a specified divalent metal compound to obtain a solid product (I);reacting this product (I) with a transition metal compound of 4a group or 5a group of the Periodic Table in the presence of a polysiloxane to obtain a solid product (II); andfurther reacting this product (II) with at least two transition metal compounds of 4a group or 5a group, consisting of at least one member selected from the group (A) consisting of halogen-containing transition metal compounds of 4a group or 5a group, and at least one member selected from the group (B) consisting of halogen-free transition metal compounds of 4a group or 5a group to obtain the solid product (III).By employing this improved solid product (III) as a catalyst component, it is possible to produce .alpha.-olefin polymers or copolymers having a broader molecular weight distribution with a high polymer yield.

    • An abnormal noise correction verification apparatus is provided that can easily verify the effectiveness a corrective action with respect to an abnormal noise being generated. The apparatus has at least one vibration sensor, which detect vibrations of the vehicle. The apparatus extracts a signal in a specific frequency band for the vibrations detected from the vibration sensor. The apparatus stores a pre-corrective action signal extracted from the vibration sensor, which is from before eliminating a cause of abnormal noise, and a post-corrective action signal extracted from the vibration sensor, which is from after eliminating the cause of abnormal noise. Both pre-corrective action signal and the post-corrective action signal were detected under identical travel conditions by the vibration sensor. The apparatus then synchronizes and separately outputs the pre-corrective action signal and the post-corrective action signal for comparison.

    • An electric power producing system using a molten carbonate type fuel cell, comprises a fuel cell whose anode chamber is provided with hydrogen gas and whose cathode chamber is provided with air and carbon dioxide and a reformer including a reforming chamber for reforming fuel gas into anode gas and a combustion chamber for maintaining reforming chamber temperature. In the reformer, fuel gas and steam are fed into the reforming chamber, gases discharged from the anode chamber are introduced into the combustion chamber and non-reacted gases in the anode exhaust gas are burned with air, and heat produced upon the combustion is used to heat the reforming chamber. Hydrogen-rich gas made in the reforming chamber is fed into the anode chamber, air is introduced into the cathode chamber, the cathode exhaust gas is partially fed into the combustion chamber whereas the remainder is discharged from the system, and combustion gas from the combustion chamber is separated from water and then recirculated into the cathode chamber. The anode exhaust gas and cathode exhaust gas are directly introduced into the combustion chamber so that the anode and cathode chambers are made substantially equal to each other in pressure.
