摘要： A re-compression molded body of a metallic powder molding material having an excellent deformability suitable for obtaining high-mechanical-strength mechanical parts made from sintered metals and a sintered body obtained from the re-compression molded body, and production methods thereof comprising the following steps: In a preforming process (1), metallic powder (7), obtained by mixing metal powder (7a) mainly containing iron with preferably at least 0.1 wt.%, more preferably at least 0.3 wt.% of graphite (7b), is compact-pressed to form a preform (8) with a density of at least 7.3 g/cm3. In a temporary sintering process (2), the preform (8) is temporarily sintered at a preset temperature to form a metallic powder molding material (9) having a structure in which graphite still remains in a metal powder grain boundary. In a re-compression process (3), the metallic powder molding material (9) is re-compression-molded to obtain a re-compression molded body (10). In a re-sintering process (4), the re-compression-molded body (10) is re-sintered to obtain a sintered body (11). In a heat treating process (5), the sintered body (11) is heat-treated to obtain a heat-treated sintered body (11).

A powdery mixture is prepared by blending a graphite powder in amount of not less than 0.3 % by weight with an iron based metal powder (51). SOLUTION: Iron based metal powder containing =7.3 mg/m . The molded body is subjected to sintering at >1,000 to 1,300 deg.C in a nonoxidizing atmosphere under the partial pressure of nitrogen of =7.3 Mg/m and a low load on compression molding and high deformability can be obtained. Further, the stock is subjected to compression molding and resintering and/or heat treatment and formed into a sintered member. Also, annealing can be applied thereto after the previous sintering.

摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a die assembly for compacting which is capable of making high-density compacting without causing galling in a die assembly by forming a taper part to a die and forming an annular recessed step part to the outer peripheral part at the bottom end of an upper punch. CONSTITUTION:The upper part of an inside hole 2a of the die 2 of the die assembly for compacting having the die 2, the upper punch 3 and a lower punch 1 is formed at a large-diameter part 2a1 to be fitted with the upper punch 3 and the lower part thereof at a small-diameter part 2a2 to be fitted with the lower punch 1. The taper part 2a3 which continues the large-diameter part 2a1 to the small-diameter part 2a2 is formed in the intermediate part thereof. The annular recessed step part 3a1 is formed in the outer peripheral part at the bottom end of the upper punch 3. Compact and the die are easily parted by utilizing the magnitude of a spring back quantity by this taper part 2a1. The friction between the outer peripheral part of the compact and the die is reduced by utilizing the low density in the outer peripheral part of the recessed step part side. As a result, the compacting of a high-density green compact is made possible without causing the galling, etc., on the peripheral wall of the inside hole of the die.
