A measurement mechanism having both the function of measuring temperature of the measurement site and the function of applying a thermal load to the measurement site is used, and a process of extracting temperature change associated with the recovery of the surface temperature by the blood flow is conducted from the measurement results obtained by the measurement mechanism.

摘要： Provided is a biological state assessment device for assessing biological state, such as mood or emotions, using non-invasive biophotonic measurement technology. The present invention includes a light irradiation unit (1041), a light-receiving unit (1061), and an inputting means (112). A subject (800) is presented with a plurality of different problems (first problem, second problem), and a biological signal in the interior of the subject is calculated from the intensity of light received by the light-receiving unit (1061). Subjective information about the subject is accepted by the inputting means (112). The difference is calculated between the subjective information and the relative value of the biological signal of the measurement point for the first problem and the biological signal of the measurement point for the second problem, and the result is displayed.

Therefore, an effective detection method and an effective display method of presenting results of detection must be developed. A series of tasks (stimuli) or a selected measurement signal is used as a reference signal, and a phase difference of any other measurement signal from the reference signal is calculated. The synchronousness of the phase of the measurement signal with the phase of the reference signal is numerically expressed. The thus obtained numerical value is statistically processed in order to numerically express a degree of reliability. Thus, a brain activity or a functional connectivity is visualized.

摘要： A cerebral function measuring apparatus houses a light detector in a package that can be set on the head of the subject examinee with light detection elements, amplifiers, and high voltage power supplies sealed in the package. Each amplifier and each high voltage power supply are united into one and covered with a high polymer material with high dielectric strength, and further enclosed by a metallic shield so as to be insulated. The high voltage power supply consists of a very small coil and an integrated circuit to generate a voltage required to drive the light detection element in the package. A removable and safe module type light detector is thus realized.

An optical measurement apparatus for a living body comprises a light irradiating section, and a light detecting section for detecting light transmitting through or reflected from the interior of the body. The concentration of carbon dioxide gas taken into the body is controlled by the respiration of the test subject and the resulting change in output from the light detecting section is then evaluated.
