    • A low speed fuel supply system for a carburetor of an engine, with the system including an ascending fuel passage communicating with a fuel supply. A fuel-air passage is provided with an air bleed at an upper end, with the fuel-air passage opening, at the upper end thereof, into an induction passage of the carburetor upstream of a throttle valve mounted across the induction passage. A lower end of the fuel-air passage communicates with the induction passage in a vicinity of the throttle valve. A horizontally disposed fluid passage is provided for connecting both the upper ends of the fuel-air passage and the ascending fuel passage. The horizontally disposed fluid passage forms a valve seat, with a guide member being provided forming a valve body disposed in alignment with the valve seat. An air bleed introduces air into the upper portion of the ascending fuel passage directly toward the valve body. By operation of the low pressure induced in the induction passage, fuel is sucked from the fuel supply, guided by the valve body, and directed to the valve seat, while air introduced from the air bleed is directed to the valve body. The air and fuel are divided into two layers and flow into the valve seat. The flows of two layers into the fuel-air passage, with fuel flowing while adhering on a wall of the fuel-air passage and the air flows along a central portion of the flowing fuel, while the fuel adheres to the wall of the induction passage so that an annular flow is formed and a stable and continuous flow can be effected.

    • A fuel injection apparatus is disclosed which includes two intake tubes each having a throttle valve, a fuel injection valve for injecting fuel into each of the intake tubes, a hot-wire type air flowmeter for measuring the quantity of intake air sucked into the intake tubes, and a by-pass passage which accommodates the detection portion of the hot-wire type air flowmeter. The by-pass passage has an inlet portion for introducing the static pressure of flow of the intake air sucked into each intake tube, a central portion for passing en bloc the air introduced from each intake tube and an outlet portion for discharging into each intake tube the air passing through the central portion. The detection portion of the hot-wire type air flowmeter is disposed in the central portion of the by-pass passage. Thus, the air flowmeter is able to obtain an output having reduced pulsations.

    • A carburetor for an internal combustion engine including a main suction conduit having a control throttle and a starting suction conduit having an on-off valve and opening at one end in a portion of the main suction conduit disposed downstream of the control throttle, wherein a main fuel passage and a main air bleed passage having a main air bleed for the main fuel passage are provided for the main suction conduit. A communication passage is provided to communicate a portion of the starting suction conduit disposed upstream of the on-off valve with a portion of the main air bleed passage disposed upstream of the main air bleed. By this arrangement, when the throttle valve is opened to accelerate the engine before it is completely warmed up after being started, the suction pressure from the starting suction conduit is transmitted through the communication passage to the upstream side of the main air bleed passage whereby the fuel-air mixture supplied through the main suction conduit to the engine can be enriched substantially at a uniform rate.
