摘要： A high-speed image forming method and apparatus is capable of directly controlling a toner by the force of an energy beam. Selected toner particles in a mass of toner adhering to the surface of a transparent drum are irradiated with a laser beam emitted by a laser disposed within the transparent drum and controlled for scanning according to image information. The laser beam separates the selected toner particles from the transparent drum by the force it produces on the particles, and then the separated toner particles are moved to a paper sheet by the force of an electric field produced by a developing electrode. Each toner particle need only be irradiated with the light for a comparatively short period of time, so that an image can be formed at high speed.

A corona charger is also provided for decreasing the amount of charge on the toner on the transfer belt in a region of the belt up-stream of the electrically conductive brush roller in the moving direction of the transfer belt.

摘要： A development process and a fixing process are carried out on a front side of a recording paper. The paper recorded on the first side is transported toward a returning transportation device. The development process and the fixing process are then carried out on a back side of the paper. A nozzle for blowing out an air flow, an inverter roll for inverting the paper and the returning transportation device are arranged between the fixing station and a reversal station. The paper is deformed by the local cooling due to the air for peeling by the nozzle, the inverter roll and the returning transportation device. The portions (working regions) which receive the local cooling are arranged such that at most two of the working regions occur at any point of the recording medium paper. The inferiority of the local images in the defects in transfer and the local lowering degree in the density of the images are decreased.

摘要： A transfer apparatus for electrophotography is disclosed in which the resistance values of a transfer belt and the recording paper are measured, and the current value applied to a device for charging a member is set on the basis of the electrical resistance values. The charging device of the transfer belt is adapted to be taken up and reeled out and to circulate along a track. This configuration assures a stable transfer characteristic against the secular environmental variations of the component elements, lengthens the intervals of replacement of the charged member, and hence increases the mechanical life of the transfer apparatus and the electrophotographic apparatus using the same.

摘要： A parallel circuit of a capacitor and a varistor is connected between a ground and an aluminum cap of a photosensitive drum having a photoconductor sheet wound on a surface of an aluminum drum. The capacitor is charged by a charger. A developer roll connected to a bias voltage supply is provided with a retraction mechanism and is controlled so that the developer roll is separated from the drum mechanically upon start of operation of a recording apparatus until a potential of the cap is increased to a predetermined value and a developing agent layer does not come into contact with the cap. Alternatively to retraction of the developing roll, the developing roll may be stopped to control a height of bristle of developing agent or a bias voltage of the developer may be reversed.
