    • A scroll type compressor having a front housing, a rear housing, an intermediate outer shell portion arranged between the front and rear housing to form an integral stationary scroll element having a stationary end plate and a stationary spiral member, a movable scroll element having a movable end plate and a movable spiral element and being engaged with the stationary scroll element to define a plurality of compression chambers shifting and reducing in volume to compress refrigerant gas, containing therein an oil component, in response to an orbiting motion of the movable scroll element, a suction port formed in the intermediate outer shell portion to directly introduce the refrigerant gas into the compression chambers, and a discharge chamber in which the refrigerant gas after compression is discharged from the compression chambers.     • A variable capacity type vane compressor comprising a cylinder having an oblong cylinder bore and a rotor with radial vanes rotatably inserted in the cylinder so that the radially outer ends of the vanes are in slidable contact with the cylinder bore surface to form compression chambers therebetween. A movable capacity control disk is arranged at an interface between one side plate and the rotor to control the quantity of introduced gas and/or returned compressed gas to vary a capacity of the compressor. The capacity control disk is moved by a spool actuator inserted in a spool cylinder having opposed working chambers. Gas under output pressure is introduced into the first working chamber, and oil under output pressure is introduced into the second working chamber, while a leak passage relieves the oil pressure to an intermediate pressure. A spring is also arranged in the second working chamber to urge the spool, and a valve is arranged in the oil passage close to the second working chamber to regulate the movement of the spool in response to a predetermined requirement.

    • A scroll type refrigerant compressor having an axial housing means defining a discharge chamber and a low pressure chamber around the discharge chamber, a stationary scroll , and a movable scroll. The movable scroll engages the stationary scroll and moves along a predetermined orbiting path respective to the stationary scroll. The stationary and movable scrolls define compression chambers therebetween. The stationary end plate of the stationary scroll includes a pair of relief ports for fluid communication between the compression chamber and the low pressure chamber. The compressor further comprises a valve plate in the form of a ring with a pair of valve ports. The valve plate is rotatable about the axis of the compressor between an open position where the valve port is aligned with the relief port to provide fluid communication between the compression chambers and the low pressure chamber and a closed position where the valve port separates the compression chamber from the low pressure chamber. An actuator for rotating the valve plate between the open position and the closed position in response to a refrigeration demand signal.

    • A variable displacement vane compressor for an air conditioning system used in an automobile has a cylinder assembly having a bore in which a rotor (7) is received to form at least one crescent chamber (R1, R2) between the rotor (7) and the bore. The cooling capacity is adjusted in accordance with a cooling load of the air conditioning system by displacement of an annular plate member (21) for controlling the amount of refrigerant introduced into a crescent chamber (R1, R2). The annular plate member (7) is driven by a driving units (25, 25a, 26, 27, 28, S1, S2) in which a dynamic pressure balance between a first compartment (S1) to which a refrigerant gas under a discharging pressure is introduced, and of a second compartment (S2) to which an oil under a discharging pressure is introduced. A sealing means (35a, 36) for preventing the leakage of the refrigerant gas from the high pressure region including the first compartment (S1) to the low pressure region is provided between the annular plate member (21) and a front end wall member (4) and an pressurized oil is supplied to the sealing means (35a, 36) to enhance the sealing effect of the sealing means (35a, 36).

The one side plate has an elongated hole which permits movement of the connecting member extending therethrough, and the seal ring has a diameter smaller than that of an imaginary circle centered on the rotation axis of the rotor and circumscribing the elongated hole. The seal ring is eccentric to the rotation axis and includes the elongated hole in the seal ring.

A sealing means (35a, 36) for preventing the leakage of the refrigerant gas from the high pressure region including the first compartment (S 1) to the low pressure region is provided between the annular plate member (21) and the front end wall member (4). A pressurized oil is supplied to the sealing means (35a, 36) through an intermediate passage (37) to enhance the sealing effect of the sealing means (35a, 36). The intermediate passage (37) is separated from the arcuate slot (27) to prevent the high pressure oil from leaking into the first compartment (S1).

The pump chambers are exposed to the outlet ports separately one after another when the pump chambers are rotated by the drive shaft. A discharge rate varying mechanism is provided that varies a fluid discharge rate of each of the outlet ports by varying the amount of the fluid led to the outlet ports.
