    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flowmeter capable of easily and accurately determining an integrated quantity of flow without being affected by fluid fluctuations caused by disruptions in pressure balance, biased temperature distributions in piping, etc.
      SOLUTION: The flowmeter includes a flow sensor capable of measuring the instantaneous quantity of flow of forward and backward flows of a fluid; a smoothing means for smoothing the measured instantaneous quantity of flow; an integrating counter for integrating and outputting the smoothed quantity of flow; a determination means for determining the presence or absence of fluctuations of the fluid by monitoring the smoothed quantity of flow; an auxiliary counter for integrating the smoothed quantity of flow instead of the integrating counter while the determination means is determining fluctuations and when it determines the presence of a fluctuating flow; and a control means for restarting the integration of the smoothed quantity of flow by the integrating counter by adding the integrated quantity of flow by the auxiliary counter to the integrating counter when the determination means determines the presence of a normal flow.

      SOLUTION: This thermal type flowmeter is provided with a plurality of low-speed flow sensors for measuring a low flow region and a plurality of high speed flow sensors for measuring a high flow region built in a prescribed passage, and a flow measuring means for measuring the flow while selectively using either the low-speed flow sensors or the high-speed flow sensors according to the flow of a fluid flowing through the passage. The thermal type flowmeter is further provided with a failure detecting means for detecting the failure of the low-speed flow sensors, and a measurement control means for carrying out flow measurement using the high-speed flow sensors regardless of the flow when detecting the failure of all the low-speed flow sensors by the failure detecting means.

SOLUTION: This flow meter is provided with a flow conversion table for storing standard flow detecting characteristics showing the relation of detection signals of the flow sensors to the flow, as basic characteristic curve data in advance, and an adjusting function table for storing errors between the detection signals of the flow sensors obtained at a plurality of predetermined flow measuring points, and the basic characteristic curve data as adjusting functions which show the individual difference of the flow sensors. The detection signals outputted from the flow sensors are corrected referring to the adjusting function table, and then the corrected detection signals are converted into flow values, referring to the flow conversion table.
