    • Waterproof performance of a grommet is stabilized, the grommet being inserted and engaged with a through-hole having a burring in a body panel. A grommet for a wire harness is externally fitted to the wire harness routed in a vehicle and is mounted to a through-hole from which a burring of a body panel projects. The grommet includes a one-piece molded component of one of rubber and elastomer and an annular body engagement recess in an outer peripheral surface of a tubular portion through which the wire harness is inserted. A size between two side surfaces that define a bottom surface of the body engagement portion is set to be less than a projection size of the burring projecting from a periphery of the through-hole. A projecting front end surface of the burring is wedged in and pressed into contact with one of the side surfaces to serve as a seal point.

    • A grommet includes an inner tube and an outer tube coupled to the inner tube by an annular coupling section. A slant wall section of the outer tube has a curved portion at a position having an outer diameter equal to an inner diameter of a through-hole in a vehicle body panel. The curved portion has a different inclination angle from the slant wall section. An inclination angle of the slant wall section at a larger diameter side with respect to the curved portion is set to be smaller than an inclination angle at a smaller diameter side with respect to the curved portion. The slant wall section is provided on an inner peripheral surface at the smaller diameter side with a bending stress absorbing portion of which an inner surface is recessed annularly to be a smaller thickness.

    • To provide a grommet of which a vehicle body latch recess is not deformed, thereby maintaining a good sealing function, even if a wire harness that passes the grommet is bent sharply. The grommet includes: an inner tube for passing electrical cables in the wire harness in a close contact manner; an annular coupling section protruding from an outer peripheral surface of the inner tube; and an outer tube contiguous with an outer peripheral surface of the annular coupling section and disposed coaxially with the inner tube. The outer tube is adapted to couple the annular coupling section to a larger thickness portion of the outer tube and to couple a reducing diameter slant wall section to the larger thickness portion. The outer tube is provided on an outer peripheral surface at a boundary area between the larger thickness portion and the slant wall section with a vehicle body latch recess in an annular manner. The annular coupling section is formed into a smaller thickness. The annular coupling section is bent in a V-shaped configuration from an inner peripheral end coupled to the outer peripheral surface of the inner tube to an outer peripheral end coupled to an inner peripheral surface of the outer tube.

    • When a grommet provided with a wire insertion tubular portion is mounted in a through-hole of a vehicle body panel by engaging a vehicle body engagement recess on an outer periphery of the grommet with a peripheral edge of the through-hole, the present invention prevents the wire insertion tubular portion from being caught by the peripheral edge of the through-hole, bending toward the vehicle body engagement recess side, and being wedged in between the peripheral edge of the through-hole and the vehicle body engagement recess, and thus enables the grommet to be securely mounted in the through-hole. A rib is provided between an outer peripheral surface on a central axis line side of a wire insertion tubular portion and a peripheral wall of a central tubular portion in order to reinforce a base on the central axis line side of the wire insertion tubular portion.
