    • An anti creep braking system for a vehicle. A force transmission member is drivingly coupled to a part of the brake pedal and transmits braking force to a braking force generation system. A braked member is selectively braked by a braking device, and is driven by the brake pedal with a one direction force transmission device being interposed on the path of transmission of force between the brake pedal and the braked member. The sense of force transmission of the one direction force transmission device is such that, when the movement of the braked member with respect to the vehicle is prevented by the braking device, the brake pedal may be further depressed to increase vehicle braking action without transmitting substantial force to the braked member, but may not be moved backwards to reduce vehicle braking action. A control system selectively controls the braking device so as to put it into operation and to release it from operation according to the operational conditions of the vehicle effected by the driver of the vehicle and/or skidding condition of the vehicle.

    • The present invention relates an antiskid apparatus for an automotive vehicle. The apparatus includes a cut-off valve which is connected between a master cylinder and a wheel cylinder and provides communication therebetween in response to wheel cylinder pressure and cuts off pressurized hydraulic fluid from the master cylinder when an antiskid operation is performed by the control system. A solenoid valve is positioned in a conduit which connects the wheel cylinder to the cut-off valve. The solenoid valve is also connected to a discharge side of a pump which circulates pressurized oil. When the solenoid is in a normal position, the wheel cylinder is connected to the cut-off valve in the discharge side of the pump. When changed over from the normal position, the solenoid valve disconnects the wheel cylinder from the cut-off valve and the discharge side of the pump and connects the wheel cylinder to a reservoir connected to an intake side of the pump.

    • A regulator valve for a hydraulic anti-skid apparatus and which includes a housing provided with a first inlet port for connection to a fluid pump and the anti-skid apparatus, a second inlet port for connection to a master cylinder, and an outlet port for connection to a fluid reservoir, a regulator piston reciprocably disposed within the housing to form a first fluid chamber in open communication with the first inlet and outlet ports and a second fluid chamber in open communication with the second inlet port, and a spring loaded annular valve seat member arranged within the first fluid chamber to cooperate with a valve part of the piston so as to control the fluid flow from the first inlet port to the outlet port in response to the difference in pressure between the fluid chambers. A support member is arranged within the first fluid chamber formed therein with an axial bore in which a large diameter portion of the piston is slidably disposed to form a third annular fluid chamber. The support member is further formed with an orifice for effecting the fluid flow between the first and third fluid chambers in response to axial movement of the piston.

    • A foot-operated device for controlling a parking brake wherein a parking brake pedal is locked in its operated position through engagement of a pawl member with ratchet teeth. The pawl member is pivotally connected to the brake pedal, and the ratchet teeth are formed on a bracket fixed to a vehicle frame. The parking brake is released when a pedal pad pivotally connected to the brake pedal is pivoted on the pedal and the pedal is depressed. The pedal pad has an extension arm protruding toward the pawl member which is biased by a spring device in a first direction to cause the pawl member to engage the ratchet teeth while the pedal pad is placed in its original position. The extension arm directly engages the spring device to change the biasing direction thereof from the first direction to a second direction so that the pawl disengages from the ratchet teeth when the pedal pad is pivoted to its operated position. The biasing force in the second direction is selected to be smaller than an engagement force existing between the pawl member and the ratchet teeth.

The pressure increase control valve decreases an amount of pressurized oil flow from the pump to the wheel brake when wheel brake pressure decreases and increases the amount of pressurized oil flow from the pump when wheel brake pressure increases. The pressure decrease control valve increases an amount of pressurized oil flow from the wheel brake to the reservoir when wheel brake pressure decreases and decreases the amount of pressurized oil flow from the wheel brake when wheel brake pressure increases. The pressure increase and decrease control valves are formed integral.

    • An anti-skid apparatus for installation in a vehicle braking system having a regulator valve for producing a hydraulic power pressure in accordance with a hydraulic braking pressure from a master cylinder. A control cylinder is disposed in a hydraulic circuit connecting the master cylinder to a wheel brake cylinder, and comprises a cylinder body having a cylinder bore defined therein and a piston axially slidably disposed within the cylinder bore. Disposed in the control cylinder is a normally open cut-off valve which normally permits the flow of the hydraulic braking pressure from the master cylinder into the pressure chamber and blocks the flow of the hydraulic braking pressure when the piston moves to an extent more than a predetermined distance from its initial position for decreasing the volume of the pressure chamber. And, a changeover valve is disposed between the regulator valve and the control cylinder, and applies the hydraulic power pressure to the piston or discharges it from the control cylinder.
