    • A flame retardant epoxy resin composition which can improve heat resistance and exhibit an excellent adhesion strength and insulation reliability when applied to a printed circuit board or to a multilayered interconnection laminate is provided, and a prepreg and a metal foil clad laminate using the same composition are manufactured. This flame retardant epoxy resin composition consists of: (a) an epoxy resin containing a glicidylether compound which is a condensate of bisphenol A or bisphenol F with formaldehyde; (b) a condensate of bisphenol A with formaldehyde; (c) haloganated bisphenol A as a flame retardant agent; and (d) a hardening accelerator, wherein the haloganated bisphenol A is contained in 45 weight % or less of a total solid resin weight. A metal foil clad laminate is provided using this composition as a varnish, impregnating the same into a base material to obtain the prepreg, laminating the prepreg, depositing a metal foil on one or both surfaces thereof, and heating under pressure.

    • An automatic document conveying device for an image processor having a transparent plate disposed on the upper surface of a housing for placement of a document to be processed thereon. The automatic document conveying device comprises a document introduction portion, a main portion and a document delivery portion. The document introduction portion includes an introduction portion frame member, a document table extending upstreams from the introduction portion frame member, a document introduction passage extending from the document table to the transparent plate inside the introduction frame member, a document sender for sending the document into the document introduction passage from the document table, and a document introductor for introducing the document onto the transparent plate from passage. The main portion includes a movable main portion frame member mounted to move between a closed position covering the transparent plate and an open position exposing the transparent plate to view, and the document conveyor that conveys the document along the transparent plate when the movable main portion frame member is in the closed position. The document conveyor includes a conveyor belt mechanismm on the movable main portion frame member. The document delivery portion includes a delivery portion frame member, a document delivery passage within the delivery portion frame member, and a document deliverer that delivers the document onto the document receiving tray through the document delivery passage. The document delivery portion includes a document re-introduction passage extending to the transparent plate, being branched from the document delivery passage.

    • Disclosed herein is an improved process for preparing 1RS-3'RS epimer of aminated phthalideisoquinolines represented by the general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are independently hydrogen atom or a lower alkoxy group, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 are independently hydrogen atom, amino group or a lower alkoxy group with at least one of R.sup.3 -R.sup.6 being amino group, and R.sup.7 is a lower alkyl group. The improvement comprises, after having reduced a mixture of epimers of corresponding nitro compounds of the general formula (I) wherein the amino group is replaced by nitro group into the amino compounds (I), treating said amino compound at a temperature in the range of 20.degree.-100.degree. C. in an aliphatic lower alcohol in the presence of an alkali to epimerize 1RS-3'SR epimer of said amino compound into said 1RS-3'RS epimer thereof.
