    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft member constituting an exhaust pressure control valve that effectively reduces noise generated between the shaft member and a bearing supporting the member by slightly improving a structure in the shaft member constituting the exhaust pressure control valve, particularly, in a shaft member freely turnably supporting a main valve, and to provide an exhaust pressure control valve with the shaft member.
      SOLUTION: The shaft member 10 constitutes the exhaust pressure control valve. In part of or all of a surface layer of a shaft member body S constituting the shaft member 10, a first coating 1 consisting of titanium nitride is formed at least in a sliding area Sa of the body, and a second coating 2 constituting of titanium oxide which is produced by oxidizing the titanium nitride is formed on a surface layer of the first coating 1.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a hard thin film by which a hard thin film having high adhesiveness can be formed and also film thicknesses can be differentiated partially in the hard thin film.
      SOLUTION: In the method of forming the hard thin film on the surface to be treated (sliding surface 1a) of a material to be treated (valve lifter 1) according to a PVD process, magnetic fields are locally generated on the surface to be treated by performing a pattern arrangement of permanent magnets 3 on the back surface 1b of the surface to be treated and, thereby, the film thickness of the hard thin film formed on the surface to be treated can be partially differentiated.
