    • PURPOSE:To enable stable ultrasonic flaw detection even in a narrow place like a furnace core region with high accuracy, by providing a multistage type rod provided with a horizontal arm having a probe unit to an apparatus main body moving to the peripheral direction of a nuclear reactor pressure vessel (RPV) in a freely rotatable manner so as to be suspended therefrom. CONSTITUTION:An apparatus main body 1 is set to the upper end of the shroud 30 of RPV and moved to the peripheral direction of RPV by a peripheral direction moving mechanism 2. A multistage type rod 3 freely extensible and contractible to the axial direction of RPV is provided to the apparatus main body 1 so as to be suspended therefrom and a horizontal arm 4 is provided to the lower end of said rod 3 and slid to a horizontal direction by a horizontal direction slide mechanism 5. Probe units 6A, 6B are provided to both end parts of the horizontal arm 4 in a freely rotatable manner and pressed to the inner surface of RPV by a press mechanism 7 to perform flaw detection.

Consequently, tape guiding posts 23, 24 on the feeding and winding sides are loaded to the prescribed positions of a cylinder on the feeding and winding sides through a magnetic tape 37.

CONSTITUTION:A pressure-proof container 11 whose front surface is transparent, a lateral pusher 12, a front-rear pusher 13, a floating and underwater navigation pusher 14, a depth indicator 15, an angular velocity indicator 16, a buoyancy material 17, a ballast, etc., are put in a vehicle main body 10. In the pressure- proof container 11, a TV camera 18 with a focus adjusting and tilting mechanism is incorporated. The underwater illuminating lamp 19 and a position fixing device 20 whose shaft 20b extends by being driven by a motor 20a are provided on the front surface of the vehicle main body 10. When inspection in a furnace is carried out, the underwater vehicle 6 is put in water and supplied with electric power through a cable 9 and the underwater vehicle 6 is put close to a target object to inspect the target.

    • PURPOSE:To enable accurate identification of a defective point of material to be inspected, by inserting and connecting a comparator between an ultrasonic wave receiver and a waveform display device to discriminate a reflection echo from a defect easily from a platinum noise. CONSTITUTION:A signal of a transmitter 1 is transmitted to an electromagnetically ultrasonic transducer 5, an ultrasonic wave 6 is transmitted into material 4 to be inspected and reflected waves 8 from a defect 7 are detected therewith 5. A detection signal thereof is applied to a receiver 2 for amplification thereof or the like to be inputted into a comparator 9, which compares an output voltage of the ultrasonic wave receiver 2 with a reference voltage determined and when it exceeds the reference voltage, a pulse signal is outputted and indicate as pulse F' within a waveform display device 3 to judge the presence of a defect. When the reference voltage is adjusted to set a threshold of the comparator 9 at about noise voltage level contained in the output voltage, a display can be obtained with excellent S/N ratio.

    • PURPOSE:To apply high-efficiency ultrasonic flaw detection (UT) to piping and fitting, etc. of complicated shape, by, for flaw detection of piping and fitting including a bent, displacing No.1 base and No.2 base in the axial directions of the piping and the fitting and swinging a swinging member. CONSTITUTION:In case when applying the UT along the periphery of a fitting 1b, a driving motor 7 is started to rotate a pinion and allow a running carriage 5 to travel along rails 2 and at the same time, a stylus module 43 is given with reciprocating motions within the specified range in the Y3 direction, this arrangement being made by driving of a driving motor 50. And, when, at this moment, the module 43 reaches a bend of an elbow 1a, a swinging member 22 is swung by driving of a driving motor 27 for allowing the module to run along the curvature of the elbow 1a. Further, a controlling apparatus controlling this series of motions stores preliminarily a shape of the pipe line as data and the controlling is performed basing upon the shape. By these arrangement, the UT can be applied automatically to pipings, fittings, etc. of intricate shapes, such as the piping 1 provided with the elbow 1a.

    • PURPOSE:To distinctly discriminate a reflected ultrasonic wave by receiving and transmitting ultrasonic waves by electromagnetic ultrasonic transducers independent of each other and separating a transmitter and a receiver. CONSTITUTION:Electromagnetic ultrasonic transducers 4a and 4b are connected to an ultrasonic test equipment B and are placed on the surface of a material 5 to be examined, and when a transmission pulse is inputted from an ultrasonic transmitter 1 to the transducer 4a, an ultrasonic wave 6 is transmitted into the material 5 to be examined and is propagated in the material 5 while repeating multireflection. the transducer 4b receives the ultrasonic wave 6 and receives a reflected ultrasonic wave 8 due to a defect 7 also. Since the ultrasonic wave 8 is propagated in the opposite direction of the ultrasonic wave 6, it is received by the transducer 4a also. Thus, the reflected ultrasonic wave is distinctly discriminated without an influence of the transmission pulse.
