    • The differential includes a differential casing configured to rotatably drive by a motor under a driving force. The differential includes a differential mechanism which includes a pair of first and second side-gears for distributing a torque of the differential casing to first and second output shafts. The differential includes a frictional clutch for interconnecting the first and second output shafts. The frictional clutch includes a first power-transmitting member connected to a first output shaft. The frictional clutch includes a second power-transmitting member connected to a second output shaft. The frictional clutch includes first and second clutch plates axially displacable to engage with each other. A first clutch plate is connected to the first power-transmitting member. A second clutch plate is connected to the second power-transmitting member. The differential includes an actuator for operating the frictional clutch. One output shaft of the first and second output shafts is axially displacable by the actuator under an engagement force to engage the frictional clutch.

    • A coupling for a vehicle includes a pilot clutch 15, a main clutch 13, a pressing system 21 and a coupling mechanism 17. The pilot clutch 15 generates a pilot torque and is operated by operating means 19. The main clutch 13 connects torque members 11 and 9 and transmits transmitted torque. The coupling mechanism 17 operated by the pilot torque converts the pilot torque into a pressing force for coupling the main clutch 13 via the pressing system 21 by use of a cam thrust force thereof. The main clutch 13 is disposed outside the pilot clutch 15 in a radial direction, and respective members of the pressing system 21 are mutually positioned and designed to move unitarily in a pressing direction, thus sliding portions caused by the main clutch 13 is connecting and disconnecting are limited to being on a side of the main clutch 13.

    • Differential apparatus which includes input and output members rotatable relative to each other, a clutch mechanism for interconnecting them, an actuator and a cam mechanism. The clutch mechanism includes first and second clutch members rotating with the input and output members, respectively. The actuator limits rotation of the second clutch member relative to the input member to angularly displace the second clutch member 1o relative to the output member. The cam mechanism is provided between the second clutch member and the output member, and includes first and second cam faces rotating with the second clutch member and the output member, respectively. When the actuator operates, these cam faces cooperate to axially displace the second clutch member away from the output member, whereby the second clutch member is axially displaced to engage with the first clutch member.
