The plane arrangement of the soil cement columnar bodies 1 is a grid arrangement or a non-contact zigzag arrangement, and a grid interval in the case of the grid arrangement and an interval between two soil cement columnar bodies 1 adjacent to each other in the case of the non-contact zigzag arrangement is less than two times of the height from the upper end of each of the soil cement columnar bodies 1 to a road paving surface, plane view improvement rate is 20-60%, and value of length of each of the soil cement columnar bodies 1 + thickness of shallow layer and improved soil (subgrade) + thickness of road pavement is more than 4 m.

SOLUTION: Multiple ground improving columnar bodies 20 are constructed in the object soft ground 11 of a road foundation by the machine stirring method at the length not reaching a bearing stratum below the soft ground 11 and at the improvement factor of 10-50%. A reinforcing net-like body 21 made of glass fibers is installed on the columnar bodies 20. A crusher run layer 18a, a graded grain crushed stone layer 18b, and asphalt concrete 18c are installed in sequence on the net-like body 21 to construct road pavement 18. A mixture of sediment and a solidifying agent or a mixture of the sediment and solidifying agent and an additive such as foam beads, rice hulls, a bubble generator, a clinker, and steel fibers may be installed on the columnar bodies 20 to form a shallow improved earth layer. The consolidation settlement of the road can be suppressed.

CONSTITUTION:A poor subsoil is excavated and a recessed section 2 is formed, the bottom ground of the recessed section 2 is agitated by a bucket mixing system, and cement 6and EPS beads 7 are mixed with original-position soil 5 and an improved-body lower layer 3 is formed. A geotextile sheet 4 is laid on the improved-body lower layer 3, and the side edge section of the sheet 4 is overhung to the outside of the recessed section 2. The excavated original-position soil 5, cement 6 as a solidifying material, the EPS beads 7 and water 8 are mixed by a mixer 9 and the inside of the recessed section 2, in which the sheet 4 is laid, is impregnated with improved soil 10. The peripheral section of the improved soil 10 is wrapped and fixed by the overhung geotextile sheet 4, and an improved-body upper layer is executed. Accordingly, the safety and workability are improved, a ground improving body resists banking and car load, and settlement and side flowing are prevented and the ground improving body can be constructed at a low cost.

In this case, the height from the tips of the soil-cement column bodies 1 to the road paved surface is to be 4m or more. The plane layout of the soil-cement column bodies 1 is to be of grated shape, and it is desirable that the spacing of grating is not more than twice the height from the upper ends of the soil-cement column bodies 1 to the road paved surface. Settlement due to consolidation caused by dynamic load is thereby suppressed in spite of the small improved area of the deep layer ground, and a road can be constructed efficiently at a low construction cost.

After that, they are mixed by a mixer 4 to form a soil improver, it is conveyed by a pump 6 through a hopper 5, and it is injected into a drilling hole from the front end of the screw auger 1 rotatably onserted up to the specific depth. Then, the soil improver to be injected is replaced by in-site soil conveyed to the ground with the rotary drawing of the screw auger 1, and columnar improvement bodies are formed in the drilling hole. Successively, the columnar improvement bodies are lapped and joined together to construct a soil improvement body improving the deep soil of the whole improved soil. In addition, the chaff on a lapping alignment face is put between improvement bodies constructed through not simultaneously, and lap joint sections are firmly jointed.

By the first feauture (A), the chaff (or the like) is hardly scattered since it is mixed beforehand and therefore, an accurate mix proportion can be obtained. By the second feature (B), the separation of the cement based solidifying material and the chaff (or the like) from each other material can be inhibited to obtain a hardened material having a fine structure and therefore obtain improved mechanical characteristics such as shear strength, etc. By the third feature (C), the objective solidifying material can be produced in a factory for producing a conventional cement based solidifying material without drastically changing the equipments of the factory.
