    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder head gasket allowing to dispose a first bore bead even in an engine having narrow intervals between adjacent cylinder bores, and securing good followability.
      SOLUTION: This cylinder head gasket 1 comprises a first gasket substrate 2 having a plurality of combustion chamber bores 4 formed thereon and a second gasket substrate 3. A stepped stopper 2A having a U-shaped cross section and surrounding the outer circumference of each of the combustion chamber bores 4, and a first bore bead 2B surrounding the outer circumference of a stepped stopper are formed on the first gasket substrate. A second bore bead 3B superposing with the first bore bead is formed on the second gasket substrate. The first bore bead and the second bore bead are gathered into one line, respectively, in an area where the adjacent combustion chamber bores are close to each other. The width of the first bore bead is set smaller than the width of the second bore bead. The height of the first bore bead is set lower than the height of the second bore bead. Thus, the first bore bead can be arranged even in the area where the adjacent combustion chamber bores are close to each other, and good followability can be secured.

In addition, as a third constitution, an inner side angle θ2 of the outer sidewall surface 11B is made smaller than an inner side angle θ1 of the inner sidewall surface 11A. These first to third constitutions may be used independently or with the two kinds combined.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of a joint face due to a bead and to ensure stable sealing ability on the whole of a metallic gasket by increasing the thickness of a seal film on the surface on the protrusion part side of a bead to a value higher than that of a seal film on the surface on the recessed part side of the bead. CONSTITUTION:First seal films 16a and 16b of a vulcanized rubber layer formed of vulcanized fluorine rubber are formed on both surfaces of a base plate 10. The first seal films 16a and 16b are a seal film adhered on the surface on the protrusion part 15a side of a bead 15 and the surface on the recessed part 15b side thereof, and a thickness t1a of the surface on the protrusion part 15a side of the bead 15 is increased to a value higher than a thickness t1a of the back thereof. Second seal films 17a and 17b of a non-vulcanized or unvulcanized rubber layer formed on both surfaces of the base plate 10 are adhered to the first seal films 16a and 16b, respectively. A thickness t2a of the surface on the protrusion part 15a side of the bead 15 of the second seal films 17a and 17b is increased to a value higher than a thickness t2b of the back thereof. This constitution prevents the top surface of the protrusion part of the bead from being exposed to damage a joint face and ensures stable sealing ability.
