      SOLUTION: In the joined structure of structural steel obtained by welding a beam 1 in which a first bevel 2a and a second bevel 2 are formed at the end part with a column 5, the bevel angle β formed between the second bevel face 2b and the joint face 5a of the column 5 on the surface side is wider than the bevel angle α formed between the first bevel face 2a and the joint face 5a of the column 5 on the root R side. In this way, the joined structure of structural steel which is excellent in workability in welding, and can prevent brittle fracture can be obtained.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a box column, which can reduce deterioration of a material for a skin plate, caused by welding, and the box column.
      SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method for the box column, the four skin plates (steel plates) 1 are combined together in a box shape of a square cross section, and fillet welding 3 is applied to the adjacent skin plates 1 from the inside, so that the box column (four-side box column) 2 for a building structure can be manufactured. In the fillet welding 3, an end of the skin plate 1 does not require groove working.
