    • A novel polyester type powder coating composition which includes a specific self-hardening polyester of air-hardening type comprising as main ester-constituting monomer units, (1) at least one polycarboxylic acid component containing at least 10 mole %, based on the polycarboxylic acid component, of at least one aromatic polycarboxylic acid component (A) and (2) at least one polyhydric alcohol component, having in its main chain at least one terminal blocked with a monofunctional unsaturated alicyclic compound component (B) and having a softening point of 30.degree. to 150.degree. C. This composition is excellent in storage stability and adaptability to either thin coating or thick coating, and when it is applied onto an article to be coated and baked at a temperature of 170.degree. to 230.degree. C. for 5 to 30 minutes, a coating excellent in appearance, mechanical strength, gloss and reflection sharpness can be formed advantageously without generating undesired gases at the baking.

    • A photosensitive member for electrophotography has a photosensitive layer provided on a photoconductive substrate. The photosensitive layer contains at least one of indole derivatives represented by a chemical formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are members selected from a group consisting of hydrogen atom and alkyl, aralkyl, allyl and alkoxy groups having 1-9 carbon atoms (but R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 do not stand for hydrogen atoms at the same time); R.sub.3 is a member selected from a group consisting of hydrogen and halogen atoms and alkyl and alkoxy groups having 1-3 carbon atoms; X is a member selected from a group consisting of alkylen, allylen, carbonyl, sulfonyl, sulfinyl and sulfide groups and oxygen atom; and n stands for an integer of 0 or 1.

    • An electrophotographic photoconductor include an conductive substrate; an undercoat layer provided on the conductive substrate; and a photosensitive layer having charge-generation and charge-transport functions provided on the undercoat layer. The undercoat layer includes a polyamide resin and methylhydrogenpolysiloxane-treated titanium dioxide and preferably styrene-maleic acid half-ester copolymer. The photoconductor can be produced by the steps of: dispersing a polyamide resin and methylhydrogenpolysiloxane-treated titanium dioxide and preferably styrene-maleic acid half-ester copolymer in a mixture solvent of an alcohol-type solvent and a halogenated hydrocarbon-type solvent, thereby preparing a coating liquid for an undercoat layer; applying the coating liquid onto a conductive substrate, thereby providing an undercoat layer on the substrate; and forming a photosensitive layer on the undercoat layer.

    • The photoconductor for electrophotography comprises an electroconductive substrate and a photosensitive layer formed on the substrate. The photosensitive layer may be a monolayer or function-separated laminate type one which comprise a charge generating layer and a charge transporting layer laminated one on another. The charge generating layer contains a specified benzidine compound represented by general formula (I) below as the charge transporting substance. ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4, which are the same or different, each represent independently an aryl group, an alkylaryl group, an alkoxyaryl group or a halogenated aryl group provided that R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, or R.sub.3 and R.sub.4, or both combine and form a condensed aromatic group with the nitrogen atom to which they are bonded, respectively; R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 each represent independently a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, or a halogen atom.
