    • A shifting device for an automatic transmission of a vehicle has a manual shift mode which permits a driver to manually change a speed ratio by displacing a shift lever in an upshift direction or a downshift direction in a manual operation lane from its neutral position. The shifting device is provided with a switch for detecting that the shift lever has moved to the manual operation lane, a switch for detecting that the shift lever has moved in the upshift direction from its neutral position, and a switch for detecting that the shift lever has moved in the downshift direction from its neutral position. All these three switches comprise a traveling contact and two contacts. The traveling contacts of the three switches are earthed, and the six contacts of the three switches are respectively connected to six input terminals of a control unit. Due to this, the control unit can determine a fault in any of the switches based on the signals input into the input terminals.

    • A method for controlling hydraulic pressure of an automatic transmission for a vehicle is provided. The automatic transmission has a clutch element engaged by a solenoid pressure to perform speed change. The solenoid pressure is generated by a solenoid that is driven by a solenoid drive current. The method calculates a required clutch engagement pressure and a required solenoid pressure corresponding to the required clutch engagement pressure based on a relationship between the clutch engagement pressure and the solenoid pressure. The method outputs a required solenoid drive current corresponding to the required solenoid pressure based on a relationship between the solenoid pressure and the solenoid drive current. The solenoid outputs the solenoid pressure corresponding to the required solenoid drive current.

    • Provided are devices and methods to minimize drag caused by abrasion powder between clutch plates and to prevent a faulty engagement or release of a dry clutch. A hybrid driving force transmission device is provided, wherein a multi-plate dry clutch is arranged in a sealed space and used for connecting/disconnecting transmission of a driving force is provided with drive plates, driven plates, friction facings, and a housing cover. The drive plates are splined to a clutch hub, and have, in the sections thereof that are splined to the clutch hub, vent holes for channeling the air flowing in the axial direction. The driven plates are splined to a clutch drum. The housing cover has an external air intake hole for drawing external air into the sealed space, and an external air discharge hole for discharging the airflow from the sealed space to the outside.
