    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device capable of efficiently cooling a light-emitting section emitting light by receiving exciting light.SOLUTION: A headlight 1 includes a laser diode 3 for emitting a laser beam, a light-emitting section 7 for light-emitting by receiving the laser beam emitted from the laser diode, and a reflecting mirror 8 and a transparent plate 9 for storing a cooling liquid 71 used for cooling the light-emitting section 7. The cooling liquid 71 is stored in a space 80 defined by the reflecting mirror 8 and the transparent plate 9, temperature of the cooling liquid 71 located in the vicinity of the heated light-emitting section 7 is raised by being heated with the heated light-emitting section 7, and the cooling liquid 71 which is not heated moves to the vicinity of the light-emitting section 7. Upon generating such a convection phenomenon, the light-emitting section 7 can be efficiently cooled, and deterioration of the light-emitting section can be prevented.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device capable of restraining temperature rise of a light-emitting section in a simple structure.SOLUTION: The headlamp (light-emitting device) 1 includes a laser element 2 for emitting a laser beam, a light-emitting section 4 emitting fluorescence by receiving the laser beam emitted from the laser element 2 and having a sealing material made of an inorganic material, and a heat sink 7 for radiating heat produced at the light-emitting section 4 with the irradiated laser beam through a contact surface in contact with the light-emitting section 4. A range where the light-emitting section 4 exists is limited in a range wherein a desired heat radiation effect can be attained on the basis of the contact surface. Thus, the headlamp 1 can restrain temperature rise of the light-emitting section in the simple structure.
