摘要： A drying control method and apparatus of a washing and drying machine, in which cooling water dropped from a condensation duct to a tub accelerates the condensation of moisture contained in circulated air so as to improve condensing capability, a cold air drying time is differently set according to load so that when the load is small, a drying time is shortened, and the drying of laundry is rapidly performed, a power consumption rate is minimized, or a cooling water consumption rate is minimized according to user's desire, and a drying operation is controlled using a difference between a temperature of air and a temperature of cooling water so that the drying operation is efficiently performed according to load conditions so as to improve the drying capability.

摘要： A washing and drying machine that is capable of performing heat exchange between outside air introduced into a cabinet and the circumferential surface of a tub so as to condense air used to dry laundry. No cooling water is used to condense air used to dry the laundry. Consumption of water is reduced, and therefore, the maintenance costs of the washing and drying machine are decreased. Furthermore, no condensing duct is necessary. Consequently, flow resistance is decreased, and drying efficiency is improved. In addition, sufficient space is provided between the rear surface of the tub and the cabinet. Consequently, the volume of the drum is increased, and the washing/drying capacity of the washing and drying machine is increased.

摘要： A washing and drying machine includes a drying duct having at least one inlet end and at least two outlet ends. Consequently, air flow is increased, and drying time and power consumption are reduced. The inlet end is connected to the center portion of the circumferential surface of a tub, and the outlet ends include a front outlet end connected to the front side of the tub and a rear outlet end connected to the rear side of the tub. Consequently, the laundry is uniformly dried even when the laundry is placed in the drum at the front and/or the rear sides of the drum, and therefore, damage to the laundry is prevented. Flow resistance is minimized, and drying time and power consumption are reduced.

A motor rotates the drum, a supporting device that extends from a rotation shaft of the motor to the cabinet rotatably support the drum. A buffering-and-sealing device is provided at the rear side of the tub to buffer a space between the rotation shaft and the tub and to seal the rear side of the tub. A drying device extends from one side of the tub to the other side of the tub to circulate air in the drum and to dry laundry in the drum. Thus, the size of the washing machine is reduced, the washing capacity thereof is increased, and laundry is dried by the drying device.
