摘要： An internal tissue puncture closure method and apparatus. The method and apparatus provide a folded sealing plug that provides more surface area than conventional plugs to more fully cover and seal an external situs of an internal tissue puncture. The folded sealing plug may have a weave pattern that tends to cause the sealing plug to corkscrew into the internal tissue puncture as it is compressed toward an anchor placed inside of the tissue puncture.

摘要： A suture device and method according to the present invention involves positioning a body (12) of the suture device inside a sheath (11) and extending the body through a vessel wall (14). First (24) and second (22) cannulae, in the form of sharpened needles, are inserted through the vessel wall and through adjacent subcutaneous tissue on opposite sides of the vessel wall opening. A snare or loop (34) is carried by the first needle on a first side of the vessel opening. A suture (50) is carried by the second needle on a second side of the vessel opening. The snare is deployed inside the vessel so that it assumes an opened, pre-oriented, three-dimensional configuration. The suture is then extended into the vessel and positioned inside of the open area formed by the snare or loop. As the snare is pulled back into the first needle, the snare closes around and grasps the free end of the suture.

摘要： Several gastrointestinal surgery procedures are effective as treatments for metabolic disorders such as obesity and diabetes. Minimally invasive procedures including intra-luminal gastrointestinal implants have been proposed to mimic the anatomical, physiological and metabolic changes achieved by these procedures. Many of these designs include long sleeve like elements that prevent contact of food with the walls of the small intestine. It is desirable to have simple delivery systems that can place these implants under endoscopic guidance. However, in order to anchor these sleeve elements safely and reliably, the inventors have previously disclosed anchoring means that anchor the sleeves at the junctions of the stomach and the intestine or the stomach and esophagus.

摘要： A gastrointestinal device for implanting within a patient's gastrointestinal tract includes first and second expandable anchoring rings configured to be disposed on either side of a patient's pylorus (106). The first expandable anchoring ring (120) has a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration, wherein in the expanded configuration the first expandable anchoring ring has a diameter larger than a maximum opening diameter of the pylorus.
