    • A superconductive cable capable of promoting a heat insulating function by a heat insulating tube. A heat insulating tube contained within a cable core of a superconductive cable includes a first metal tube and a second metal tube and a third metal tube arranged from an inner side in a diameter direction. An inner side heat insulating portion is formed between the first metal tube and the second metal tube, and an outer side heat insulating portion is formed on an inner side of the third metal tube and on an outer side of the inner side heat insulating portion. A heat insulating function of the heat insulating portion on an outer side is set to be lower than a heat insulating function of the heat insulating portion on an inner side thereof.

    • Provided is a superconducting cable capable of maintaining a predetermined thermal insulation property without having a vacuum thermal insulation structure. The superconducting cable of the present invention includes: a cable unit 100, in which a core having a superconductor layer and an electrical insulation layer is housed in a core-housing pipe; a thermal insulation member 200 which is provided outside the cable unit and maintained in a non-vacuum state; and a sealing member for preventing the permeation of moisture into the thermal insulation member. By equipping the outside of the cable unit with the thermal insulation member 200 which is maintained in a non-vacuum state, it is made possible to maintain the predetermined thermal insulation property without having a vacuum thermal insulation structure.

    • A testing chamber for electrically testing a sample of insulating material or materials in sheet form, under controllable conditions of pressure and temperature. The pressure resistant chamber is air and liquid tight to permit testing of oil impregnated samples unexposed to harmful air. A frame is positioned within the chamber. A supply reel storing a test sample of insulating material or materials and a takeup reel for receiving the test sample drawn from the supply reel are both rotatably mounted on the frame. The supply and takeup reels are separated from each other to form a testing station therebetween. A shaft with a handle is attached to the takeup reel and extends out of the chamber to facilitate rotation of the takeup reel whereby the test sample may be removed from the supply reel to the testing station and then to the takeup reel. First and second electrodes are connected, respectively, to the high and low voltage terminals of a power supply. Position and pressure producing means are operatively connected to at least one of the electrodes to control the spacing between the electrodes and the pressure applied to the test sample by the electrodes.

    • The invention offers a submarine solid cable that can suppress the movement of the insulating oil when the cable is used and the production method thereof. The method of producing a submarine solid cable forms an insulating layer by lapping insulating tapes, each of which includes a resin film, over the outer circumference of a conductor and impregnates the insulating layer with medium-viscosity insulating oil. The insulating layer is formed by lapping insulating tapes, each of which includes a resin film, over the outer circumference of the conductor 1. The insulating layer is impregnated with an insulating oil having an at least medium viscosity. The resin film is swelled to narrow an impregnation path impregnated with the insulating oil. According to the production method, the impregnation path for the insulating oil is secured when the impregnation with the insulating oil is performed and the impregnation path is narrowed to suppress the movement of insulating oil when the cable is used. Thus, the cable can have excellent insulation properties.
