At the start of printing, the temperature of the preheater is controlled by use of the upstream temperature sensor, thereby suppressing undershoot. In addition, during the printing, the temperature of the preheater is controlled by use of the downstream temperature sensor of the preheater, thereby stabilizing the temperature of the web rushing in the fixing device so that it reaches the temperature required for fixing.
