    • Thermal radiation sensor provided with two receiver surfaces exposed to the radiation, of which one (1) has a high absorbing capacity in respect of thermal radiation owing to its black colour, and the other (2) has a low absorbing capacity because of a covering which reflects the thermal radiation. These two receiver surfaces (1 and 2) consist of a NTC resistive material and are, together with two temperature-independent cermet resistors (3 and 4) incorporated in a brigde-circuit. The four resistors (1-4) are applied to a ceramic substrate (5) and connected with strip conductors (6) which in turn terminate at the four necessary connections (7-10). The ceramic substrate (5) is fixed in a frame, which carries a cover (12) that is substantially permeable to thermal radiation, which for its part carries, as far as a window (13) over one of the two NTC resistors, a layer (14) of a material which substantially reflects the thermal radiation.

    • In a process for controlling the heating and/or air conditioning installation in a motor vehicle, the air inside (20) the motor vehicle (10) is conditioned depending on signals from at least one temperature sensor (32) and one humidity sensor (34) arranged inside (20) the car. A second temperature sensor (32) and a second humidity sensor (40) arranged outside the car (10), preferably however in the intake channel (16) of outside air of the heating and/or air conditioning installation (12), allow the air taken in to be conditioned already before it is blown into the inner space (20) of the car. A third temperature sensor (42) and a third humidity sensor (44) arranged near (24) the window-panes allow an impending or already existing temperature drop below the dew point on the inner side (11) of the window-panes of the car (10) to be recognized and appropriate action to be taken. Heated air, if necessary dehumidified, can be blown through a venting channel (22) opening near (24) the window-panes. The third temperature sensor (42) arranged near (24) the window-panes can be dispensed with if the temperature of the window-panes is estimated on the basis of a correlation between inner and outer temperature. It is possible to improve this estimate by additionally using signals from a radiation sensor (46). The estimate is further improved if the travelling speed of the car (10) is also detected by a speed sensor (48).

In the present device, the partial flow of combustion air circulates almost continuously through the separation wall (12, 23, 29) configured as a guiding device, the acceleration caused by the injection action of the fuel jets increasing as the rotation speed of the internal combustion engine increases. The advantage is that in the whole range of rotation speeds of the internal combustion engine, it is possible to obtain a proper and steady combustion as well as to reduce emissions of noxious substances.

    • The invention concerns a sensor for determining the oxygen content of gas mixtures, in particular in exhaust gases from internal combustion engines. The sensor comprises: a first pump cell (10) and a second pump cell (20); an internal reference gas source (15) and a chamber (22) for the gas to be measured, which chamber (22) is connected to the gas mixture; electrodes (11, 12, 21) for the first pump cell (10) and the second pump cell (20); and a first pump voltage (UP1) for the first pump cell (10) and a second pump voltage (UP2) for the second pump cell (20). The first pump voltage (UP1) and the second pump voltage (UP2) are set such that more oxygen is pumped into the reference gas source (15) by the first pump voltage (UP1) than is pumped out of the reference gas source (15) by the second pump voltage (UP2). The second pump voltage (UP2) drives a pump flow (IM) which is taken as the measurement of the oxygen content in the gas mixture.
